^^ Jorge Gurgel is 3-3 (3-4 if you want to include his time on TUF 2), yet he doesn't get cut. The guy is like a 2nd degree black belt in BJJ and he got submitted by Cole Miller. He just hasn't been doing things right.

I am not saying Aurelio going 2-3 is good by any means, but that can't be the sole reason for the release.
Not saying I agree, but it could have something to do with Houston's highlight reel victories (and defeats) and the chance that any of his fights can end at any second...literally.

And the fact that there are a ton of casual UFC fans who can understand/follow a 12 second KO, but are completely confused and mystified by a 16 second armbar.

^^ That armbar was probably the 2nd best armbar in MMA history (We all know what numero uno is). It is a shame it didn't happen in Japan, because Joe Rogan and a few other guys in the arena are probably the only ones who even understood what happened.


Don't get me wrong, I understand why he was cut.... but I don't get why he was cut over some other guys...
