Jeff Monson, the guy is small hes a brawler.. I think he would beat Sylvia, its not like the Snowman hasnt fought anyone bigger then him before and beaten them. I think Jeff's wrestling is good enough to take Sylvia down, but Sylvia would definently win the standup fight.. by a long shot.

if it goes to decision, sylvia would get it. if sylvia makes a mistake and gets taken down or if he gets tired in the later round and loses some pop on his jab, monson will submit him on the ground. the height differential is substantial and, as evidenced in the pe de pano fight, monson can't really get started against a larger fighter with a jab.
all this talk of monson/sylvia will be for naught if he loses at 61, though.

Tim Sylvia doesn't get any respect...nto even as the champ...he's beaten alot of people but still nobody is giving him the chance over arlovski....not that I really am either but the man doesn't get any help from the fans it seems
as for the monson sylvia fight...I don't know...it could play out many different ways...but I see Sylvia takign it

I like Monson. I have just never seen him dominate any fighter. especially a striker. I would love to see Monson just go in and beat the crap outta someone for once. Until then. it is Tim all the way.

I'd give Monson a chance. He could tap Sylvia out if he got him to the ground. I would take Sylvia in this match up though because of his size and reach.

Sylvia's height and reach advantage would be just too much for Monson to overcome. Monson was having problems with Pe De Pano's reach and height when Cruz isn't as tall as Sylvia nor as good of a striker as Tim.

I see it going much like Sylvia-Silva did. A fairly luckluster fight where Sylvia uses his reach to just pick at monson and not much more else for fear of being taken down.
