| lack of BJJ in UFC
are there any "regulars" in UFC that use BJJ regularly?
I know BJ Penn and Dean Lister do. but other than that... there isnt much except for joe nobody who does an armbar or gullotine once in a while. there aren't any BJJ masters in UFC.

basically, no BTT and chute boxe=no straight BJJ
its hard to do sweeps and transitions when a big wrestler slams you into the cage

Not true. There's a lot of BJJ users in UFC but most fighters enjoy a good KO. Mir Frank, Monson Jeff, Bonnar Stephan, Sobral Renato, Carter Shonie, Horn Jeremy, Parisyan Karo, Serra Matt, Florian Kenny, Thomas Din (the names are backwards because I copied and pasted)
All these fighters are BJJ masters, or at least very very good at it.

From what I've noticed BJJ, wrestling and thai boxing seem to be the main styles studied. Vera(who known for striking, has a brown belt from Lloydd Irving) If a fighter doesn't cross train in a myriad of styles he would never make it to the UFC(excluding the first fighters in the UFC). I do not think there are people who train solely on BJJ for the same reason

Listen the reason that BJJ isn't seemingly used as much isn't becuase nobody wants to it is because there are so many guys who have a very good BJJ bakcground. With everyone being so well versed in many aspects of martial arts, BJJ isn't as effective as it once was. When Royce showed up, no one understood what BJJ was or how it was defended, now becuase of Royce it is well known and understood. There probably won't be another single dominating stykle again unless someone comes up with something that no one else uses. BJJ is still effective to an extent but you can't progress very far with just that or without that in your repetoire. But it was a very good question

Pe De Pano has amazing BJJ. He hasn't fought in awhile, but I believe he has a match with Arlovski coming up.

BJJ is still very effective. Look at Babalu and Frank Mir. You cant compare the old UFC days of Royce's dominance but BJJ is still very effective. There is also Nog and Barnett who are very good.
