Default Lidell Vs Franklin?

What a match up this would be. Rick Franklin has to cut weight to fight at 185; by the time the fight bell rings he likely is back up around 205. Everyone knows Lidell is holding it down at 205. This would be one SUPERFIGHT!

Never really given this much thought, but yes......it would be a SUPERFIGHT.

I like 'em both, so I can't give a fair assessment as to who I would WANT to win.

Later.

I'm in the same boat...I think Chuck would win, it certainly would be a hell of a fight......

That would be a huge draw. The PPV ratings for that one would be great. Is there any sense out there that Chuck has already peaked in his career, that he might be beginning a slow decline? Obviously he is still a great fighter, just figured I'd get some thoughts on that.

What would you base that on???? Wins in his last four fights. I think Chuck is peaking right now but there can be no sense that he is beginning to decline. Last 5 fights he beat: Couture twice, Horn, Tito and Vernon White. He is the best LHW in the World right now.

I'm not saying that he has peaked. I am saying that it wouldn't be outrageous to suggest that a slow decline might not be far off. Chuck will be 46 later this year, and few fighters have fared well in the ring that late in life. As for being the best LHW in the world, maybe. Obviously a matter of opinion to some extent, but my initial reaction would be that Wanderlei Silva is still top in that division. Either way, Wanderlei / Liddell would be a great fight.

I wasn't sure if that was a typo or not, but Chuck is 36 right now and will turn 37 in December.

Chuck is 36 years old, and as much as I like Silva I see Chuck going right thru him now.

im ready to see Liddell actually beat these guys, he got his shot against Rampage and got beat.. now we'll see what happens IF he fought Silva, I personally think Silva would win.
