| Arlovski Believes Fedor Lost More Than Just A Sambo Match.. Quote:
Andrei Arlovski recently revealed that he was approached by Fedor's management about joining Fedor's fight camp back in 2005.
Arlovski turned down the offer on the grounds that he didn't want to fight in anyone's shadow.
"I said, First of all, I have a lot of ambitions and maybe one day I will fight Fedor and I don't want to be his shadow (like) most guys in his heavyweight camp," Arlovski told MMAWeekly. "I said, 'no thank you.'"
Today Arlovski looks like a prophet as the famous Belarus native prepares to face Emelianenko on Jan. 24 in a fight to determine the WAMMA heavyweight champion.
The fight is being hailed as one of the biggest of the year and Arlovski has some extra confidence heading into the match up as the once considered unbeatable Emelianenko recently dropped a Sambo match.
"After his loss in the Sambo tournament, I think he's messed up a little bit," Arlovski told MMAWeekly. "He says it's not important, but c'mon, let's be serious. He was unbeatable, like, five years, six years in Sambo, and he's not unbeatable in MMA. When you lose something, of course it's (expletive) important. For me, it's really hard to believe that he doesn't care about it. Of course he cares. He's not 100 percent sure of himself."
Arlovski went on to say that he doesn't believe he can beat Emelianenko because he lost a Sambo match but he does believe that it shows that Emelianenko isn't unbeatable.
"I want to beat him because of my hard work," said Arlovski. "I have a great opportunity to change everything."

if that loss in sambo messed with fedor in any way i think it probably just pissed him off and got him training harder than before thats why he cancelled his promo tour so he can train his ass off for arlovski, so i dont think its a good idea for arlovski to smack talk right now cuz i have a feeling were gonna see the best fedor of his career, he lost in sambo i dont think he's even gonna take the chance of losing an mma fight...i feel sorry for arlovski cuz i see this one ending in a devestating fashion either he's gonna KO'd or limbs are gonna be broken

He is just putting more at stake. People that talk smack, eat their own words later. What happens when he loses? I dont think he's gaining fans by shitting on the most "peacefull guy" in MMA.

He's simply saying that anyone who says that a loss doesn't matter is full of shit.

so fedor took third in the world sambo competition... losing by point decision... and he's really lost his step? come on, how is that any indication that he won't continue to steamroll major league HWs. i think a lot of people are making more of this than should be made

| That is why he has my vote.
Change is good!

Eh let him shit talk, its part of the game, especially when your going to fight a guy thats titled the greatest heavyweight in the world. Did you expect AA to praise Fedor and say how sexy his bald head is? These kind of things just makes the upcoming event even more hyped. This is going to be an interesting fight to watch. I hope AA pulls it off cuz im sick of seeing Fedor the victor and have everyone on his nuts every time his name is mentioned.
