| Ufc hands out $60,000 bonuses - UFC HANDS OUT $60,000 BONUSES - MMA WEEKLY - Mixed Martial Arts & UFC News, Photos, Rankings & more Quote:
In a night that saw 2 new champions crowned in the UFC, the promotion handed down the usual fight bonuses with $60,000 as the reward.
The "Fight of the Night" went to new 205lb champion Rashad Evans and now former title holder, Forrest Griffin for their war on Saturday night. After an early advantage for Griffin in the first two rounds, it was Evans who earned the win with a TKO stoppage on the ground in the third.
The "Knockout of the Night" went to former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson who exacted a measure of revenge against old foe Wanderlei Silva when he landed a thunderous shot that put the Brazilian down and out on the canvas.
No fights on the 10 bout card ended in submission, and thus the UFC handed out no "Submission of the Night" bonus.
14,103 fans crowded into the MGM Grand Garden Arena to see the last UFC show of the year capped off with the two title fights crowing new champions in the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions.

wow thats a first, has that ever happened before? | Only two fights went the distance and no submission victories... I smell a STANDGATE!
But in reality, it's weird to see a UFC event like this. It was good though.

Excellent way to end the year with two titles changing hands and all other fights televised were very good as well. Congrads to the UFC for putting on one hell of a show! |

I think Mir should of got fight of the night along with the Rashad vs Forrest. It was just amazing to me what Frank did. I wanted him to win but had no clue he would destroy Nog the way he did.

Yeah Mir should have gotten fight of the night, I thought Rashad and Forrest stood around and jabbed for along while before Forrest went into him with the knees against the cage. The KO of the night went to the right person though IMO.

Cmon guys, Mir KO was a decent KO, it didn't leave Nog on the matt for 5min like the Rampage KO left Silva.
What it sounds like from some of you was more shock value that Mir did what he did to Nog, the KO by far was not a devistating one.
As far as almost knocking a guys head off and leaving him out-cold, Rampage did just that, and def earned that bonus over Mir IMO.
The sicker KO of the 2 was def Rampage, don't see how any can dispute that.
