well lets see if lyoto will actually stand and bang with thiago and not just run around the octagon, ufc wants to see a fight in the octagon, not a jogging marathon. we dont even know how lyoto will take a shot to the chin, for all we know he could just drop.
Trust me all the fighters have tried but nobody was able to connect yet because Machida is that good. He sees punches coming and instead of blocking it with his face he moves and counters. There are not many fighters that are 12 and 0 and have no black eye or bruise after every single fight.
I like Machida and all, the fight with Tito had me on the edge of my seat cheering, but I just don't see him being someone that can sell fights. If last nights main event was Rashad vs Machida I wouldn't have cared too much.

Uggghh!! I cant stand u fkng casual fans talking like you know it all! Lyoto deserves the title shot PERIOD if he defeats thiago! Rampage should get another win before he gets a title shot!(maybe against jardine or griffin)
I am torn on this one. I think Rampage got screwed out of his title against Forrest. That fight is in the past and he did just KO Wandy in the first round. Rampage/Rashad would be an awesome fight.
On the other hand, Machida is due. Simply based on the fact that he is undefeated in what, 6 fights in the UFC? It may be a boring fight, but it is the right one if he beats T. Silva. And I think that regardless of how he wins. I would like to see him really destroy someone just to see that he can do it.

Knowing how the UFC works, I went into the match figuring that if either Wandi or Rampage won by KO there was no way they wouldn't get the title shot.
I think Machida deserves a shot, but I don't see him getting it unless he stops T.Silva, because fucking retarded casual fans can't tell the difference between an effective strategy and a "jogging marathon."
I don't agree with it, but I don't agree with a lot of things that I've come to accept as inevitable. Like fucking retarded casual fans who can't tell the difference between effective strategy and a "jogging marathon."

lyoto and silva have not fought anyone in the top 5 so why would they get a title shot
See this is exactly how they can justify not giving Lyoto a shot... by not giving him a legit contendor. He beat Soko (who now people probably think was overrated) and Tito (who is a big name but was not in the title picture).
He needs to beat a Liddell (like Rashad did) or a Shogun (like Forrest did) to get the shot. If you're not as recognizable to the public (Machida), you need to beat someone who is. Beating Thiago Silva is not going to get you that recognition. It's similar to what happened to Fitch, he went on a huge streak but the biggest person he beat was Diego (who just lost to Kos and as a result was out of the title picture).
Eventually if you keep winning, you will get a shot but to fast track, you have to beat a legit name/contendor.
