Mirko CroCop: “I want a farewell fight in the UFC”
The rumours that Mirko “CroCop” Filopivic would head back to the UFC have been rife for a while. The Croatian star had a stint in the UFC, and due to contractual issues he left. But now “CroCop” wants his last MMA fight to be in the UFC.
At one point Mirko “CroCop” Filopivic was considered the most feared striker in all of MMA, he even reached a head kick on Hong Man Choi but was deflected. His list of victims is too long to fit on this page, and his success in PRIDE and now DREAM is clear for all to see. But Mirko says that he wants his final MMA fight to go down inside the Octagon.
“I'm not in the years when you can create a long-term plan... today my health is my priority. I believe that during 2009 I will fight three more times for Dream, then I hope for a farewell fight in the UFC.”
Mirko is suffering from severe damage, however won’t undergo surgery yet due to poor health. We hope to see the Croatian back on his feet and kicking soon.

| Interesting... I'm not sure Dana would take Mirko into the UFC for 1 fight, even if Mirko won 3 more times in Dream (especially if the opponents weren't reputable fighters). Dana likes to own fighters for a bit longer than that, but that's not to say a contract couldn't be drawn up to force Mirko into retirement after the fight (unless he wants to keep fighting for the UFC).
I'm not sure how big a draw Mirko actually was for the UFC, but if he took a paycut, Dana might sign him to a 1 fight, dream-fight type deal.
Regardless, Crocop apparently plans to retire in 2009.

Dana has stated in numerous interviews that he would love to have Cro Cop back.

Cro Crop can't carry any card being a main event right now. there's just no way, and brock will be a main event fight until he loses, and for awhile after that unless he just starts losing to everyone.
Cro crops chance at that left with his losses in the ufc, and the way AO manhandled him it didn't help. I don't think he's history, but his time has come and he didn't take advantage of it.

Obviously cro cop has changed with all the injuries that has happened to him.
hopefully we will see in late 2009, early 2010 one last fight for cro cop in the UFC. I am sure Dana would do that.
And it would even be more awesome if he Leg Kicked Lesnar in the head to settle his MMA career.

i would love to see cro cops last fight in the UFC. he's still one of my favorite fighters of all time.
i wish hed drop down to 205. which wont ever happen, but imagine all the amazing fights for him if he was 100 percent healthy.
cro cop vs wandy (again)
cro cop vs rampage
cro cop vs liddell
cro cop vs shogun
cro cop vs forrest
cro cop vs hendo
the list would go on and on...
he might get destroyed, and i might sound stupid for saying it, but id definately love to see some of those fights.
even though hes not the same as he used to be, hes still a legend. i still think hes got it in him to come back strong and finish out his career with some good wins.
i just feel like after the gonzaga KO he's scared to get hit now. but who wouldn't be when you got your head kicked to the moon?

This should not be hard to hype. Like the average UFC PPV buyer knows anything about DREAM...
All you need to do is:
Mirko CroCop came to the UFC as one of the worlds deadliest strikers. Some problems with his training and injuries led to two big defeats in a row and Mirko decided to go back to the drawing board. Since then he has been undefeated... His old injuries healed up and working with "insert ATT, Xtreme Couture or Jackson here" Mirko is planing to show UFC what he is really about *roll LHK tape deluxe*.
Who would not get hyped up about that as a solid main card event?
