Hmmm, well you definately know your shit. Ill do some research on this Hailong but why isn't he as famous as Cung Le if he's so good?? He should be the one crossing over to MMA. I've even seen a documentary about all the different Martial Arts and Cung Le was the Posterchild for Kung Fu and San Shou. Where are these other guys you mention?

Le is more famous for one because he is American,

Also Hailong competes in like world championships and tournaments and such, while Le does that as well as the k-1 superfights on an international stage

Would be interesting... He is like 7-8 years younger than Le

MMA is not as popular in China, so I think it might boil down to a lack of interest

I wonder why? If they compete in San Shou, why not test themselves Against the best fighters in the world. I thought it might be due to the fact that Kung Fu is a defensive Martial Art and not offensive and they have all them damn ethics behind it, but if they compete in San Shou then I don't understand.

1 other thing, I think San Shou has much more weapons to worry about than normal Kickboxing or Muah Thai IMO.

sanshou is lame kickboxing + throw

sanshou and muaythai have team compete 2 times. First, when throw score 5 point sanchou won. Later, Throw point reduce to 3 Point, Thai eate them alive.

Moreover, Sanchou rule dont let elbow without pad. This mean they forbid the deadliest weapon of muaythai.

IMHO, Sanshou is a kind of good rule set... but not superior than other
