I think that Cote should fighter the loser of this fight, not the winner. He really only got his title shot since there was no one else really on a winning streak at the time at MW in UFC. Silva was playing with him a little too much in that fight and was still never in any real danger.

Did I miss something? When did Cote become the champ? How is he worthy of a title shot, last time he got one he beat himself with a shotty knee.

I didn't think he had a shot before the first fight, and after the first fight, I feel even stronger about that.

I'd love to see Cote fight Okami (should Okami beat Miller). Fight also makes sense since it was Okami getting injured that setup the winner of Cote vs Almeida getting title shot.

Lasting the most rounds with Anderson doesn't count for much in my book. He needs to fight some top 5 and win a few then talk. He was lucky to get the first match up but luck beats skill.

Im among those as well. I just havent jumped on the Cote-hype train. He didnt deserve his shot v. Anderson IMO and the freak injury during the fight has done nothing but fuel the "how great Cote was doing" arguments cuz he hadnt gotten knocked out yet....YET. He earned his shot after beating Almeida? Eh....IMO I dont think Cote deserves the winner of Franklin/Silva. I'd think a Gouveia matchup would be nice. But with Maia, Okami, Marquardt and possibly Wandy waiting in the wings for their shot v. Anderson, Cote blew his big chance that he hadnt really even deserved.

Lasting the most rounds means nothing when you consider that it was the most uneventful fight also. Nothing happened.

The middleweight division is so cluttered right now Joe Silva's gonna give himself an ulcer trying to figure out where Cote fits.

I think Wandy would be a real good fight for him, whether or not he beats Franklin (Franklin should go back to 205 after anyway.)

Cote has a Granite chin, Wandy not so much anymore, still it would be an absolute war.
