I heard about this film over the summer and have been waiting to get some more info.
I've been following MMA for years, and have been working in the film bus for 2yrs. I'm not sure where they are going with this.
Is this supposed to be a documenty? docs do often times have scirpts so that doesn't throw me off. be they talk about getting actors? and they seam to act as if alot of the drama and action is already in the can. is this going to be the kentucky fried movie of mma films, is it going to be a Borat like with actors acting, and real people being real?
what is the format of this film going to be? is this going to be hoop dreams or field of dream?

It's gonna be Blair Witch Project where Hughes and Sylvia go off in the woods, get lost, and end up dying.

I've seen the sequels and they are CRAP! Nothing like the first storywise or anything else, except the Korean guy (the main one) at the end of 1 is still friends with that other guy who beat him (the guy whose brother he killed) and helps him out with something. They're horrible, a disgrace to the first one, they should've named them something else. lol

Okay, then I'll definitely avoid trying to pick up those DVDs.

Are you "waiting" for someone to send you information? It's all available online.

Google the term "Never Submit" and content comes up.

Go to MMA Weekly and there is a list of related articles posted at the bottom of the latest press release.

Perform a search of the title in the MMA Weekly forum and you find discussions about the movie.

Search the term "Never Submit" on the Sherdog site and you'll find more; same search term on their forum will produce threads as well.

Google Cindy Ortiz and you'll come up with a slew of press releases and stories.

etc.

"I've been following MMA for years, and have been working in the film bus for 2yrs. I'm not sure where they are going with this."

I'm not sure what this means, sorry.

"Is this supposed to be a documenty? "

No.

"docs do often times have scirpts so that doesn't throw me off."

... O...K...

"be they talk about getting actors?"

Huh? Do you mean will we be getting actors? If so, yes. They have to audition just like the fighters do.

"and they seam to act as if alot of the drama and action is already in the can."

Huh? Who does? Wanderlei Silva and Shogun have been cast. The first audition isn't until 11/19 in San Jose. I have no clue as to what you might be referring to.

Dude... read the press release and all of your questions will be answered.

"What is the format of this film going to be? is this going to be hoop dreams or field of dream?"

Wow... now I just give up! lol

I'm really excited about this film! I've been following the sport since the first UFC and its really came a long way! Its good that the sport is finally getting the attention and legitimacy it deserves. With a movie like this one(where they really show what the sport is all about) in theatres, hopefully many more fans will be made! I'm just really excited how the sport is heading now

Oh yeah, thanks for all the extra info on the movie cindy!

You're welcome. Your screen name is familiar from another forum. Do we know each other?

Cindy,
i should have proof read my comment alittle better..
I had originally read about your film on sherdog's news page. and i hadn't really searched out much about it since this summer.
ANd if you look at the article that was just posted on mmaweekly/mma news. one can see that the information seems to be all over the place. I had mentioned that i've been watching mma for years (and have seen any doc worth watching about it) and i am a film school graduate (fullsail) with over 2 years experince working mainly as a key grip and gaffer in NYC. the article that was posted this week had to things in it that confused me abit with where the film as going. (1) you were trying about fighters for parts.. that i get no need to try and explain anything about that. but (2) it said you were hiring ACTORS.. if this is a doc about mma and fighters stories i couldn't see how actors worked into it.

I'm sure there is much more info about your project out there and i'll do my best to read up alittle more. your frustration and condesending tone is really not needed. you live with your project everyday. i'm a guy who passes his time training and watching mma and i make my money by working on films. if you look at the latest blurb and the way it was written i hope you can understand where i was coming from. and not get so overly hostile about quetsions.
