| Lyoto: “Anderson would knock Fedor out” {TATAME} Quote:
Earning the title shot at UFC 98, against Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida convoked by TATAME Magazine to analyze one of the main fights of the dream card prepared by TATAME’s March issue. In the cover report of this edition, we set ten incredible fights, that unfortunately never happened or never will.
Pointed as the best pound for pound fighter in the world, Anderson Silva doesn’t know what is a loss for nine fights, meanwhile Fedor Emelianenko remains undefeated for eight years, time in which he got 26 victories and one no contest. To end with the questions of who really is the best, we asked some MMA specialists, how would the a fight between them (at 231lbs catchweight), and Lyoto Machida bet on the Brazilian. “Anderson has much more technical quality than Fedor, He’d knock him out”, said Machida.
On the other hand, Conan Silveira, American Top Team’s leader and one of the most experienced in MMA, don’t see any chances for the Spider in this fight. “Fedor is way more strong and explosive. Besides loving Anderson, I can’t see any result on this fight besides Anderson being knocked out”, bets Silveira.
| Take it for what you will, obviously Lyoto is going to support his friend/training partner.
For the record I agree with Silveira, though I wouldn't be surprised to see Fedor win by sub.

Anderson would get man handled. Remember, Andrei was supposed to be way more technical as well. We saw how that went.

Silva is better at Muay Thai and BJJ than Fedor. What people constantly forget is that Fedor is the best "mixed martial artist" in the world; he transcends individual disciplines.
And I think, in the back of his mind, Lyoto knows that.

I really like Anderson, and I feel that right now him and fedor are the top 2 guys in the sport. But I think Machida would have a better chance at beating Fedor.

I partially agree with him its definitely possible. Its not just Andersons power but it his power combined with his precision. In a stand up battle I give it to Anderson. Not a dumb comment to say the least if anything his comment was somewhat biased.
You have to remember Lyoto and Anderson Silva are friends and like Jardone and Evans they refuse to fight eachother (this is why Anderson is in mw). Hes already went on record and said lhw division belongs to Machida (and it does).
Silvas been kicking ass just like Fedor which is why hes also considered P4P...
Ill also add I think Rampage can knock him on his ass too.
Likewise Fedor equally has a chance to knock both of them out.

Man I would love to see this fight just so I can witness Fedor destroy Silva. Anderson is a great fighter but Fedor would beat him badly. Fedor is too big and way to tough for Silva.
Fedor by whatever he wants in round 1

see, i think this fight COULD HAPPEN at 205 lbs. Fedor could make the weight, and that's the only way it would be fair. i think Anderson could very well avoid any heavy punishment from Fedor. he's not gonna go for anything stupid like Arlovski did. i think Fedor has better chances of taking him to the ground and doin some GnP, but Anderson is more than capable of KOing the legend

No need to have it at 205.
9 times out of 10, I see Fedor taking this, especially if he has a smart game plan and takes the fight to the ground quickly.
Silva has a chance, he hits hard, and if Linland was able to land a punch, Silva would also be able to land a punch, but if this hits the ground,
Fedor would badly overpower Silva.
