| How does failed drug tests change your opinion of a fighter?
So after Karo has been suspended for 9 months I thought about how that changed my feelings about him and his abilities. I've come to the conclusion that I don't think it has helped him out much. While each case is different, such as Sherk who looked noticeably smaller in his last few outings but other than him I can't think of many people who I have thought got a lot of help out of using banned substances.

I think in this case it probably made Karo weaker in the fight. Maybe it numbs the pain but, I am not sure if the call was right, I am kind of on both sides here. He said he didn't mean to do it, but he did do it so..... I never liked Karo but I do feel for him, he's been going through some rough times.

In this case I don't think Karo benefited from the drugs, unless it helped him train through pain... I certainly would not want narcotics on board when fighting.... It just slows you down.

Depends on how they look and act when/if they come back. I've never been a fan of Sherk, but he took the suspension like a man for the most part, and has been winning ever since he came back, except for the loss to Penn.
In Karo's case, I just don't think he has the drive or the psychological tools to be a successful fighter. First it was the lack of proper training; then the panic attacks; now this. I hope he can purge his demons and get himself together, but I doubt he'll ever really be a top ten WW again. He could open up a school and be a hell of a trainer, though.

i honestly dont see how it helped him. trust me, the only thing that numbs a punch to the face is adrenaline. i cant argue w/ the ruling bc he did cheat but my feelings are the same. karo is one of my all time fav. welterweights ever and it gonna suck not seeing him fight for a while.
i never liked sean sherk so my feelings on him havent changed either
chris leben will always be a bad mother fucker, failed test or not.
cant think of anyone else right now.

I'm not convinced Sherk is guilty of anything, and I don't even really like the guy.
I mean look at Baroni, if anybody looked the part of a juicer it was him, but the dude pissed clean on the same day he supposedly pissed dirty! WTF? How is that even possible?
There was something fishy going on with the testing facilities for both of those guys.

I think Leban just reassured how much of an idiot he's always been.
Guys like Kimo, Gracie and Shamrock just reitterate why they should be retired in the first place when they fail, showing they need "supplements" to merely get by.
Personally, I was pretty fine with James Irvin more than anybody, considering the asswooping he was basically walking into against Silva and the response to why he took the meds.
