Haha Sylvia is an idiot but I guess he said what he had to say. What is he gonna say??... that he'd get his ass beat by Fedor lol. CroCop would hand his ass to him as well. He'd leg kick his goofy body till he dropped becoming a true lumberjack.

The joke is Tim Sylvia really thinks he's a great fighter
dude has height, size and reach. Other than that Arlovski gave that guy way too much respect in their last fight
Monson will choke the tobacco out that country monkey!

I love it...people bag on Sylvia because of his dopey personality and apply that criticism to his fighting ability. The guy wouldn't quit after his arm was snapped. He may say some stupid things, and act goofy outside the ring, but so what? Inside, the guy is tough as they come. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the biggest Sylvia fan, but the disrespect the guy gets is crazy.
Is his size an advantage for him? Of course it is. Just like Gomi has a size advantage over most of his opponents. Lots of fighters have that in their favor, but size alone won't give you the results that Tim has earned. There's countless examples in MMA of guys with size that have done nothing with their careers (Wes Sims comes to mind). Yeah, he's champ in a thin division, that's not his fault. There are very few quality US HW's, and all the international ones are locked up in PRIDE. He's said many times he'll fight anyone.....it's up to the UFC to build the division, not him.
Of course, he's going to say he can beat anyone in world. What professional athlete, regardless of the sport, wouldn' t say something like that? If you don't have that attitude, you're in the wrong business.

And, I don't think that has anything to do with him being tough or training hard...

It he thought it was broken, you really think he would have said something knowing that it would end the fight. I don't know if you've ever broke anything, but when a bone snaps, you know it. It doesn't matter how much adrenaline is pumping.
So, what are you suggesting, that he was on steroids? If I remember, that was a title fight, so what were the results of the post-fight drug test?

There are plenty of untested drugs that will kill pain or supe up adrenaline etc - the tests mean nothing.
Yes I have broken a lot of bones. In fact, I feel like I've spent more time injured with a break than actually training/competing.
Sylvia's response clearly demonstrated that he did not feel the severity of the injury. He was walking around with his hands on his hips bitching at the referee, waving his arm etc. That is unrealistic and stupid behaviour for a severe double break, hence my belief.
