Matt is the #1 WW in the world right now. He's also an arrogant prick. GSP is # 2 right now. Come Nov. 18th, GSP will be # 1, and Hughes will still be a prick.
And judging by the 10 pages of heated comments concerning this bout, this PPV will probably blow all pre-existing buy rate records right out of the water. The UFC is about to become a billion dollar corporation.

| Anyone Remembers Matt's Comments to Rashad Evans During Ultimate Fighter 2???
I remember watching “The Ultimate Fighter 2” when coaches, Rich Franklin and Matt Hughes were running the teams. And if I’m not mistaken, it was Rashad Evan’s first victory over one of Matt Hughes’s fighters. Soon after the victory, Matt made a comment towards Rashad Evans saying, “I’m glad you are not on my team. I don’t appreciate or respect showboating”. Now if you ask me, I think Matt was really being INCONSIDERATE towards Rashad. Rashad said back to Matt Hughes, “Well Matt, I’m sorry that you feel that way, but I fight the way I’ll always fight and I’ll do whatever it takes to WIN!!!”
And how about when he challenged Matt Hughes next fighter, Mike Whitehead!! Rashad dominated Mike in all 3 rounds. And it was right after the second round ended, Matt was yelling at Mike and while Mike was drinking from his water bottle, Matt grabbed Mike’s water bottle and threw it out of the OCTAGON!!!
LOL!!! Man some coach huh??? As a fighter, Matt is a GREAT FIGHTER, I won’t take that away from him. As for GSP’s comment to Matt after winning over BJ PENN, I feel that GSP seen Matt Hughes fight better and has performed better in previous matches before fighting BJ PENN. And I have to agree with GSP. I too wasn’t impressed with Matt.
Matt couldn’t take BJ PENN down and that really bothered him. He couldn’t stand up with BJ PENN too. He got knocked down earlier in the first round and I’m not talking about the EYE POKE either.
And lets not forget the AWESOME turnaround BJ PENN did on Matt when Matt was on top of BJ PENN!!! Everyone in the UFC CROWD jumped to there feet and was SHOCKED!!! And Matt was the most SHOCKED of them ALL!!! Matt also made a statement that he said a little prayer and GOD answered it. So Matt self admitted that he was about to TAP OUT if the bell didn’t ring time or if GOD didn’t answer his prayer.
Matt assumed that BJ PENN gassed himself out soon after the 2nd Round ended and felt that this is the only way to beat BJ PENN. Matt had no idea that BJ PENN injured himself.
As pissed off as I was, I can’t help but just admit that UFC 63 belonged to Matt Hughes and it was his Night Of Redemption. Injuries like this happen from time to time and it’s all part of the FIGHT!!!
For now, BJ PENN will have his UFC Night someday and until then, I wish Matt Hughes and George St Pierre the best in UFC 65 and may the best fighter WIN!!!
AWWWRITE!!!

| BJ and Matt
I remember when I was young watching Ali get decisioned by Leon Spinks. I was so amazed that someone was actually working "the Greatest" that I thought it was a lopsided fight, that Ali had been dominated. But, years later, when I went back and looked at the fight, I could see Spinks did indeed outpoint Ali, but the fight was not as lopsided as I first thought. It was just my expectation had been that Ali would dominate, and when he didn't, I was stunned.
I think a lot of that is true for Penn and Hughes. Penn won the first two rounds, but not by as great a margin as some would have you think. Had the fight gone 5, Hughes could still have pulled it out a decision on Penn, much as GSP did.
As supporting evidence, compare Hughes's face after 2 rounds, to GSP's after just one round. Penn's punches were landing on Hughes, but Hughes was rolling well with the punches so that they did less damage to him, then they did to GSP.

Penn won both rounds, you can win a fight off your back and Penn showed that in round 2.
