DSE Add Another Bout To 7/1 Saitama Show

Dream Stage Entertainment have added another match to their July 1st Saitama Super Arena card.

Joining the already announced non-Grand Prix bout between Kazuhiro Nakamura and Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos will be a bout between former Heavyweight King of Pancrase Yoshiki Takahashi and former Ultimate Fighting Championship Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort. Belfort is coming off of a disappointing unanimous decision loss to Dutch nemesis Alistair Overeem at the last Strikeforce card in San Jose, California on June 9th. Although dominant early, Belfort faded late and drew the ire of the crowd en route to losing on the judge's cards.

Should be. Takahashi isn't terrible either, so if Belfort really is just fighting for paychecks we'll find out.

How is Belfort getting on these cards?

For the past few years he's not even tried & looked total crap. Anyone else & they'd be fighting in back-yard wrestling matches!!!

it's called named recognition. As long as he is fighting he will get on cards, same with Tank. Neither have won much lately but they are well known throughout the MMA community.

thats the thing about vitor though, he will always have the potential to be great again in most peoples eyes so they keep giving him fights. i wonder how long people will still have hope as he keeps losing.
