Me finally losing my cool over this WadoKai is not just because of this thread. I have been hearing this sort of thing for years...I just finally snapped. LOL
As you imply above, Hughes is not from Iowa, he's from Illinois, but he trains in Iowa. It's more the "farm boy" thing that is irritating me. Iowa is primarily an agricultural state.
I'm not going to try and defend the comments you mention above. They were stupid things to say on his part.
I do take issue with generalizations from people who likely get their information about the Midwest from "Green Acres" and have never stepped foot in the Midwest. At least I've been to most of the States in the US. Since you're from Canada, yes, I've been there too.
