i just think alot of people are pissed at matt because know one has been able to take his belt from him, take a look at royce people thought matt would loose to him and matt beat him, then bj penn, i bet people were jumping up and down in there seats when bj was beating matt the first 2 rounds then the 3rd i bet they had tears in there eyes when matt did somthing to bj that has never been done, he stomped bj, yes i know he was injured but people get injured in fights all the time and i dont care that he was hurt it happen during the fight and thats all a part of fighting, i like matt i think hes a great champion and he has proved in many times and still people dont want to give him his credit but when he beats gsp, im hoping he does , people will still talk shit about him and say gsp was hurt or go robbed or cheated or so on,

You obviously don't know anything about farming or Iowa.

We are not stupid or hicks or rednecks.

Iowa and several of the other Midwestern states have some of the highest literacy rates in the country. We are one of the top states in amount of higher education and Midwesterners are the most well traveled in all the country.

I agree, people are pretty ignorant. But don't forget those pearls of wisdom coming from one source of "higher education" including "I can see your lips moving from over here" and "The French have no fighting spirit."

A harsh generalization on my part to say Hughes vouches for all of you, but I think it's somewhat fitting given your defense of him as a fellow...Iowan?

It's all a lot of drama for naught. This'll all be water under the bridge come Saturday.

hughes is the man win of loose, and gsp makes me laugh when he talks but that does not take anything away from his fighting, because he is a great fighter

Me finally losing my cool over this WadoKai is not just because of this thread. I have been hearing this sort of thing for years...I just finally snapped. LOL

As you imply above, Hughes is not from Iowa, he's from Illinois, but he trains in Iowa. It's more the "farm boy" thing that is irritating me. Iowa is primarily an agricultural state.

I'm not going to try and defend the comments you mention above. They were stupid things to say on his part.

I do take issue with generalizations from people who likely get their information about the Midwest from "Green Acres" and have never stepped foot in the Midwest. At least I've been to most of the States in the US. Since you're from Canada, yes, I've been there too.
