| Fighters Forever Banned From The UFC For Being In EA Sports MMA? Fighters Forever Banned From The UFC For Being In EA Sports MMA? Quote:
I hate to post anything that originates on a message board, but apparently the source is legit and Ken Pavia confirmed it, so here it goes…
According to user Golden Boy on the UG, the UFC is threatening to forever ban any fighters who sign to be in EA Sports MMA. Quote: |
I hear that all mma managers were informed that if any of their clients not currently under contract with the UFC….. sign to be a part of the EA game…….the will forever be banned for fighting in the UFC.
| MMA agent Ken Pavia: Quote: |
It’s true. And they told me want the word out.
| At this point, this is just a rumor, but if Pavia’s right, it sounds like we’ll be hearing confirmation soon.
If it is, are you kidding me? So now you have a bunch of fighters who have the opportunity to make some extra money, but if they have any desire to fight in the UFC one day, they have to turn it down so the UFC can dominate the video game market too? If there’s a fighter who’s tearing it up outside the UFC and can help make them money, they’re just going to turn him/her away? And what about Randy Couture who already signed a deal with EA?
C’mon. This has bluff written all over it. And I can’t wait to see who calls them on it.
By the way, this comes a week after the story of the UFC banning a bunch of sponsors and charging the remaining ones $100,000 just for the right to sponsor a fighter. MMAPayout just added Hayabusa to list and has a excellent recap of exactly what’s going down behind closed Zuffa doors.

This type of bs only makes the UFC stronger and continues to make them the best MMA promotion in the world. Only a minuscule of the MMA fanbase will buy into that, but it won't matter, seeing they're just a minority, and the majority will out-weight them every second of every passing day. How many bs like this have already been shotted at the UFC, yet, the UFC, continues to dominate. There's no stopping the machine, no matter what bs you throw at them.
If any of that were to be true, though, then Randy Couture would've already been released. GTFO!

if Em sports mma is set to be released in 2010, im thinking that most fans will wait for ufc 2010 which will be released months after. So unless ea has killer gameplay and a killer roster, i dont see it doing to well aainst undisputed 2010

He will be the greatest ever even if he lost his next 20 fights, but that won't happen because he will get revenge on Werdum ands get that Strikeforce Heavyweight Championship and retire and prove it to everyone he is the greatest fighter ever!

Shouldn't be true. Pretty sure that would be illegal.
Anyone know who is going to be in the game?

Well coming from the stand point that different MMA organizations hurts MMA as a whole, I say screw EA and all the other organizations. The UFC is like the NFL, NBA, MLB of MMA. As with other professional sports one main organization is and always will be best for the whole of the sport where competition is the heart of the sport. With all that in mind I'll support negative aspects towards the other organizations. To me all those other organizations threw the first stone at the window. The only downside I see of the UFC is personal issues with recruiting fighters *cough* Dana White *cough* and the fact that even when offered it won't do cross promotion events. Technically I'm not a fan of the idea of cross promotion events but if it's the ONLY way we'll ever see Fedor get good competition outside of people that Dana White hates aka Josh Barnett, or washed up UFC fighters then I'd accept a cross promo event.
