I personally feel that Maia will have much more trouble against Nate than he would against Anderson. I think Nate's style is much more aggressive and pressing and would potentially take the fight to Maia and I think Nate's power, size and aggression might be more challenging than Anderson's finese. With that being said, I think Maia probably takes both fights.

I would love to see Maia get this fight. The dude is ridiculous on the ground and fun to watch as well. About the comment that Silva's BJJ is underrated... well I think Anderson's ground game against Maia will look like Maia's stand up game against Anderson. I think Maia is going to shock the world in the first round.

If Travis Lutter had Anderson in trouble then Maia shouldn't have a problem.

I'm an admitted Palhares fanboy but I really think Toquinho would have the best chance of making Anderson look silly.
Maia has great jits, absolutely phenomenal, but I truly believe Rousimar's wrestling would be the difference in a fight with Silva. I just don't see Anderson being able to stay on his feet long enough to K.O him. Toquinho is so compact and explosive, and Silva's limbs are so damn long I just visualize Stumpy slamming him down, grabbing a branch and yanking like a madman.
Maia will have his hands full with Nate, he certainly CAN win but he might have some trouble getting the fight to the ground. I really don't think Rousimar would have the same issue. Dude slammed f'n Hendo, I mean come on, he's never even wrestled competitively and he slammed one of the best American wrestlers in MMA, that is the type of thing you just can't teach.

It's difficult to call. Anderson should take this but Maia is no Thales. Maia has agressive attacking JJ rather than defensive. The problem is that Maia's gameplan is so obvious and that could be a problem against someone like Silva & Nate.
Stylistically I think Nate will be a harder match than Anderson for Maia.

i havnt seen maia's standup at all. he is going to have it tough against marquardt, the guy is a big strong middleweight, he's got great bjj and good stand up too. if it goes to the ground i think marquardt will hold his own.
the thing that i find is that when fighters start talkin about title shots and beating champions before they are 1 fight away. they most of the time lose. marquardt is a tough opponent and i wonder if maia is overlooking him.
i seriously doubt maia will ever fight anderson. they have already put up one great bjj black belt against him (leites) why would the ufc do it again after they got such a poor fight out of it.

If Maia were to somehow get Nate to the ground and sub him, then I will be convinced that his chances of beating Silva would actually be pretty good.
