The UFC made a mistake by having the winners of TUF season 4 fight for the title. Having just watched the whole season and then the finally, UFC knows they have made a mistake by giving boring fighters a chance to lose vs the champs. At the very best, UFC is giving the current champs a chance to blow threw these un-deserving contenders in a spectacular fashion. Though I believe UFC knows this now, and I don't think they will make that mistake again.

I agree and hope for Zuffa's sake they don't try to make the title fights the sole headlines of their events...

I seriously hope they don't do this as well. It's a long shot but... They need to have these fights on Spike! I don't want to pay to se Serra vs. Hughes etc etc...

Also let me add. I called the TUF winners boring. They are not boring of-and-in themselves... Just compared to the current champs

I think that's what fans started to realize as well, which in turn created the ratings drop that we saw. Having the current champs go on there and train these guys and basically say "I don't see these guys having a chance against me" (which I'm sure is what any champ would say, but that's beside the point) it started to register in the casual fans head that, hey maybe these guys are just training to basically lose and get kicked out of the UFC again.

At least with the previous TUF seasons with the younger guys there was a feeling that someone can watch a fighter grow and when they blossom say "I was with him from the start." With this season these fighters have already been there and done that so the casual fan is left to say "Hey, what's the point?"

i think the biggest reason UFC did this was to get viewer recognition on a few fighters they wanted to bring back like lutter and serra. sure they'll lose the title fights most likely(i think serra has a chance against hughes, but not against gsp) but at least UFC will be able to bring in a few fighters that aren't danny abbadi to throw on TUFs again

Yeah them fighting for a title shot is pretty weak, they should have been fighting for a 3 fight contract or possibly fight the #1 contender but not a title shot.

yeah, if its a headline ppv thats shit, unless its like hw title fight, or lhw and then ww and mw and then some other fights other then that it should be on spike
