| Jeff Monson has had some pro boxing bouts
How the hell is his standup crappy then? hes 4-0 in boxing.. against chumps obviously but still.. maybe his standup use to be crappy I assume if you have a loss to Forrest Griffin your standup musta been crappy but now? I dunno maybe hes just fighting people that are way too tall for him to showcase any good standing skills but I Dont think crappy best describes Monson's standup. Still, standing with Tim would be suicide.

Afro, you are right on with all your points. I didn't know Monson had 4 pro fights. I see Sylvia picking him apart all night long with jabs.

Jeff was having tons of trouble with a very sloppy and weak jab and leg kicks against Pe De Pano Cruz and Monson hasn't fought a striker in a long while.

Yeah, I don't know how Monson will be able to get around Sylvia's jab. Hell, he can stand half way across the ring from him and land jabs. I hope it is a good fight but I just don't see how Monson can get in on him, best of luck to both of them...

Tim hasn't fought anyone remotely like Monson in a high-profile match since he beat fat-ass Ricco. I don't think Jeff is stupid...he'll be patient and wait for Sylvia to make a mistake or get careless. Sylvia seems over-confident to me...and its very likely that he'll just steamroll over Monson. Jeff just needs to make sure he doesn't develop a false sense of security in his strikes just because he's had four boxing bouts.
His strikes will be best utilized if he can take Sylvia down. He's got no range of distance and very little of motion, but if he has Big Tim pinned under him, he can just jackhammer-punch all night long till he gets an opening for a submission.

Having a few pro boxing matches mean nothing.

Yeah Sherk is small and muscular but he still has good standup. He keeps his hands up, good speed, and good head movement.

But some will never get any better regardless of how they train. Sherk is about average with his standup but it doesnt matter too much for him because his main game is GNP.
