i dont see matt having to fight anyone else before he fights gsp again, matt was a dominate champ an had the belt for a while so i see a rematch right after serra, then penn if he fights someone else by then

Yeah, I tend to agree with that. Though I think a Diego / Hughes fight would be interesting. Maybe as the undercard for the GSP / Serra fight. Don't really see it happening, but it would be worth watching. IMO Hughes would win it relatively easy.

yeah, matt will find out sometime this week if he has to fight anyone else before he fights gsp again, so if he doesnt he needs to start training now so what happen tonight dont happen again this gives him alot of time to train at least 5 months

Let matt get his ass handed to him by GSP. Im ready to throw the NightMare Diego in there. Now that would be an exciting fight. a real Classy fight for both fighters... and let Penn fight hughes beat him if he trains right.... then fight karo.. he should win then the winner of the Diego and GSP fight gets Penn in the #1 contendership match... Matt Hughes should really just think about going up to 185 or move to pride. his striking sucks really bad... GSP knocked out his front tooth.

after gsp beats serra i'd like to see the rubber match with him and hughes but if gsp ever fights diego he will destroy diego.diegos standup sucks ass he throws jabs goes for take downs and if he cant get the takedown he's got nothing just like his fight with John Alessio.

obviously serra is next, but after that it gets convoluded.
Lets run through the potential challengers and what they might have in front of them.

Hughes - he could ask for a rematch right away(after serra) and be granted it but I think both he and the UFC would like to see him fight someone in the meantime. I personally would like to see him fight Penn and the winner would fight GSP.
Diego - obviously has to beat Riggs to even be considered in this discussion. If he does win I think he should have to defeat Hughes or Penn and then get a title shot.
Penn - BJ is the enigma here. I don't think anyone including BJ knows what weight class he's going to fight in. If he stays in 170 I think he has 2 fights before he gets a title shot. Somebody, no idea who, and then Hughes or Diego in a #1 contenders match.
But I am forgetting one person here... Serra lets look at it in the case he does win the title. LOLOLOLOLOL

I can't even finish that thought.
