Default Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira to get next HW title shot

From the BloodyElbow homepage:

Quote:
According to reports, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will be getting the next shot at the UFC Heavyweight Championship:

Inside Fights has confirmed a Wrestling Observer Newsletter report that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will face the winner of the Nov. 21 Brock Lesnar/Shane Carwin fight.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, who is coming off an impressive victory over Randy Couture, will have to put his desire for a rematch with Frank Mir on hold, since it seems that he will be getting the next shot against the winner of Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin. No date or event has been announced yet, but they say that it will probably happen early 2010.
I'm just not sure about this. I want Big Nog to be champion again, and he looked great against Randy, but let's face it...physically, Randy is not Lesnar or Carwin. If this happens, it could be ugly.

Well, at least its better than Randy getting the winner of Lesner/Carwin.

Oh cmon have some faith!! Nog can handle himself. Siza aint shit when it comes to him. That was jiu-jitsu is for. Overcoming a larger stronger ooponrnt with technical skills. He is going to sub both easily. Not to mention his boxing is great.

Nog wins either of these in true Nog fashion: get's beaten on for 2 rounds only to pull out the submission!

We all saw how Dominant Brock was in half guard with Frank..... I don't think Nog could do anything to get out of that half guard position. Brock has found a anti jj Position to dominate with.

Normally, I'd completely agree, cuz Nog can take the beatings like none other, but within the octagon, I find the refs are much more willing and amped to stop the bout prior to any potential injury and more recently than ever, we've seen some stoppages that were borderline at best. Even if somebody like Nog can really take the licking and keep on ticking, I think the umps may jump in.

I see Nog eating one in the mush by Lesnar, going downm, getting pounced on like a fat kid on a cupcake and eating twenty hammerfists and absorbing them. Can he weather them and probably go on to win the fight? Serious Possibility. Will the ref stop the fight during the Lesnar barrage?? I think that question decides the fight.

Nog/Mir II is pointless right now, cuz I think there's a general concensus that Mir lucked out against Nog and that Brock really did dislodge that horseshoe from his rectum, heck he nearly killed him, but I'd like to see Mir beat Kongo, then maybe dos Santos or Cain to get another title shot or another go at Nog, cuz I think we've seen the peak of Frank Mir.

If Shane doesn't win I believe Big Nog is the only person(besides Fedor) that can beat Lesnar.
