Hughes got beat. Big deal. There were people on here that said it wouldn't happen......I was one of them. GSP was the better fighter last night. Should I have changed my opinion of Matt Hughes prior to the fight because of what the boards popular opinion was? No. It's a fight.....we all have our favorite fighters, and sometimes they lose (5 times in 47 fights I might add), and when they do you have to insult those that supported them. That's just plain stupid, stupid, stupid and it boggles my mind.
Many people complain about Matt's cocky attitude and his behavior prior to the fight, yet you (and many others on the board) exhibited the same childish behavior once things went your way......and even before the fight.
And while I'm on my high-horse, I'm sick of everyone bashing Sylvia for defending his title. He didn't have to knock Monson out. Sure he said he would, but what did Monson say pre-fight that he didn't deliver on? Sylvia did exactly what he was supposed to do, and when it went to the ground (which is were about 75% of you said Monson would end the fight) he succeeded! And he gets his balls busted because he was the only one dancing in the fifth round. Whatever.

ok he didnt have to knock him out, thats right.. but he still hasnt proven that hes anything more then a mediocre fighter with a serious reach advantage, his sprawl was pretty good but his standup is still very crappy, and his ground game is still bad unless you consider being a foot taller then someone good sub D.

They root for who they like...Matt acts like an ass and you expect people to not be happy that he lost? What sense does that make? There's nothing wrong with saying "I'm happy Matt got KTFO." People get amped up and are happy their favorite fighter won, what the hell is wrong with that? You call cheering for the fighter you want "childish behavior?" You don't make any sense. This isn't a forum of UFC fighters. It's a forum of FANS. Do you want every single post to be "Nice fight" after the GSP/Hughes fight so no "childish behavior" is displayed? Give me a fucking break.
People are busting Sylvia because he fought a boring fight. I might not necessarily agree with that, but they certainly have a point.
