That was Steve Nelmark, Ultimate Ultimate 96. I'd definitely classify it as one of the *scariest* KO's... I thought the guy's neck was broken, the way he was hunched over.

Other notable KO's that come to mind...

Pedro Rizzo vs. Josh Barnett (UFC 30-something), what a bomb-fest, finally Rizzo gets the better of Barnett.

Arlovski vs. Buentello. Maybe *best* KO isn't a good description, but I think everyone had to watch the replay on that one.

Jonathan Goulet vs. Bang Ludwig. Who was responsible for calling that 11 seconds anyhow? Did the judges make that call, or the ref? I counted about four seconds before Goulet's face skidded across the mat.

"Razor" Rob McCullough's KO of Olaf Alfonso(absolutely brutal, Olaf leaves cage in neck brace and stretcher)

Cro Cop's KOs of Aleksander Emelianenko, Igor, and Dos Caras Jr(3 head kicks are better than 1)

Kevin Randleman's KO of Mirko Cro Cop(shocking KO punch followed by hammerfists)

Rich Franklin's KO of Nate Quarry("the Rock" got rocked)

Hideo Tokoro's KO of "Pequeno" Nogueira(beautiful spinning back fist to KO the favored "Pequeno")

I forgot one of my favorites.........Rampage's KO slam on Ricardo Arona. That was sick how they collided heads taking a chunk out of Rampage's forehead.

Perhaps the most important KOs in recent MMA history have all belonged to Chuck Liddell, the flurry of hooks and overheads to drop Tito, and the single shots that dropped Randy twice. However, for visual effect and and simple shock factor of knockouts, nothing beats the stunning multiple KO laid on by Wanderlei Silva onto Rampage Jackson, laying into him with knee after knee and leaving Rampage draped on the bottom ropes, completely knocked out. That was about as dramatic as it gets in my book.

In the UFC, Irvins flying knee to Terry was awesome, but I can't imagine a better KO than BJ Penn knocking Caol Uno cold in their first fight. Uno's face when the ref pulled Penn off him was priceless & Penn's reaction after was perfect. Leave the locker room, have a fight & return to the locker in less than five minutes.

The other fighters in the locker-room must have thought he's forgotten something!

In Pride I'd have to say Liddel Vs Mezger was one of the best I've seen. Again purely because of the way Mezger crumbled.

yeah that BJ Penn KO on Caol was a good one, and very quick also. Uno made sure they touched gloves in the 2nd fight!
