Please take a look at the compustrike stats for he fight. How can anyone deny that machida lost the fight. I think everyone who didnt give shogun a chance just feels very stupid and is to prideful to admit it! These are the facts of the fight.


CompuStrike has released their stats and analysis of the UFC 104 main event between Lyoto Machida and Shogun Rua. One item of interest that no one has said much about is the knee strikes that Shogun outlanded 2-1 on Machida.

Rua outlanded Machida 89-50 in Total Strikes landed including 73 Leg Strikes landed. Rua dominated the fight and did just about everything he needed to do to beat the undefeated Machida, including outlanding Machida in every round, but apparently it wasn’t enough for the judges. All 3 judges scored it 48-47 or 3-2.

The Arm Strikes were virtually the same as both fighters landed 16 total Arm Strikes but it was Rua who dominated every position by landing the damaging Leg Strikes. Rua was able to land 46 kicks when going toe-to-toe with Machida, and landing 27 knees when in the clinch.

Well that is not surprise.
Now I will patiently wait till someone begins to make another excuse and say that Machida won, that Machida landed the most powerfull strikes.

PD: Rodzilla, I remember that you said that you watched the fight 5 times and saw Shogun landing just 3 leg kicks......Man, where do you have your eyes?

Shogun is goin to roflstomp Machida in the rematch. Mark my words, he's goin to be uber confident comin out of this fight and the fuel from the piss poor decision will drive him that much harder in training. Shogun is the future UFC LHW Champion, and that's just how it is.

Anyone who saw the fight can't argue with the stats. To me it was obvious Shogun won, but that is the way it goes sometime with judges (especially Cecil Peoples). A lot of us do not like it and think Shogun should have the belt, but in reality it did not happen.

All we can do is wait for the re-match. Let's move on and focus on things like Strikeforce, Sengoku, WEC and the two UFC events coming in November. Lots of MMA next month!!!

2. Machida won because 'he had hit harder'.
3. Machida won because 'he drinks his own urine'.
4. Machida won because 'he's worshipped by 91% of the MMA community'.
5. Machida won because '(insert other excuse(s))'.

Those stats carn't be accurate. And even if they are, who cares? Outstriking your opponent by nearly 50 fricking strike doesn't mean shite if you've just outstrucked the unstruckable Machida. Oh, that could be another excuse.. Machida won because 'he didn't and cannot be hit or strucked'.

The Nut Huggin really amazes me, I bet the people that think Machida won are the same People that think Bj won against GSP. Of course in reality the judges gave it to Machida, but with the fact that SOOOO many people are pissed, all the news reports and all the recent stats, A Machida Nut hugger cannot deny it was a bad decision. This fight is a great example of how the judging criteria needs to be changed in MMA.

If Someone is pressuring the opponent, AND outstrikes them, I dont see how they lose. And the whole "Well, from my angle I saw..." and "From my angle I saw..." Is fucking bullshit, the judges should watch a monitor, or have high chairs hanging over the cage if they all cant come to agreement. Better yet have fightmetric or compustrike judge all the fights lol

Stats are Stats And Shogun got the better of the exchanges, this is fact. If were in a race and I go faster then you for the whole race, I win right?. Same If were in a fight and I hit you more times then you hit me, I win. It just doesnt make sense how Machida won that fight.

Am I gonna lose sleep over it? Hell no
Would I like to see a rematch? Fuck yeah
Do I still think Machida is undefeated? In reality he is, but I dont think he should be
Did Shogun expose Machida to not be the invincible Samurai everyone loves? Yes he did
Do I think Shogun would win a rematch? Yes I do
