Cain mauled him. Its not a fight if all you do is get punched in the face for 7 minutes. Ben didn't defend himself, he just didn't get knocked out cold.

cain has 0 power anyone who punches sum1 that much and cant hurt them or ko them is weak, so cain can wrestle thats all i have seen from him, he couldnt finish a lw if he tried!

While I agree that most likely Cain would have dominated the rest of the fight, you can not simply project what the rest of the fight will be like and call it prematurely. It was an unfair stoppage. Simple as that.
If we are going to call fights based on the ref's predictions, A. Silva would never step into the cage and Fedor would never have to leave Russia... | True, these guys always have a punchers chance, but as a referee how much damage should you let a guy take to give him that chance? The ref is there for the fighters safety and some fighters just dont know when to quit.
I would rather a ref stop a fight to save the fighter from taking damage that could have negative effects further down the line like in the case of Big Nog then to let a fight continue just to see if he can pull out a win. How much damage has Big Nog suffered because of all those wars he was in where he just did not quit and the ref continued to let him fight? Sure the guy won several fights that way but how much shorter has his career become because of it? The guy is barely in his early 30's and looks like he's in his late 40's. He even sounds like his speech has started to slow down. I dont want the guy to end up like so many boxers who cant talk cleary because of the damage suffered from so many blows to the head.

So what if the guy does not have one punch KO power, he keeps such a crazy pace and is relentless he forces the ref to pull him off. I would like you to name any other HW that could throw over 200 punches in 3 rounds and not break a sweat doing it. I do not see how any one can say Cain does not have finishing power when he has only gone the distance once.
As far as the stoppage goes, the fight should have been stopped in the first several times. Cain was destorying him and I believe one judge even scored the first round 10-7 which might have been an UFC first. Could Rothwell have continued, of course. But are we all really that sadistic that we needed to see the slaughter continue?
