Dana is brilliant, but the problem is he thinks he's way smarter than he actually is. Scott Coker will probably fall for this and sign henderson for one or two fights, pay him too much, and go down under. CHECK AND MATE STRIKEFORCE. game over

Lol, love it. Far fetched, but not that far fetched. I'm quite sure Coker isn't a dumb ass much like that Affliction MMA clown Atencio. I hope so, anyway.

Best of luck to Dan Henderson where ever he ends up, though, for sure.

Wih Hendo's experience how can you not think if he went to SF he couldn't fight either Shields or Mousasi and not beat them both? Hendo has fought mostly top tier fighters since he began. Can either Shields or Mousasi say that?

I think you are both right. Sure, in terms of his talent and accomplishments and what he has meant to the sport, he is definitely worth 500K. However, in terms of how many PPV's he would sell, probably not worth that much. I often beleive that you can't ONLY look at the short-term economic gains in making a decision, as the UFC has done lately; I think this is definitely a case where, as much as I hate to say it, Dan seems to be asking for too much.

I don't completely agree with this. I feel that if Dan had been offered the title shot outright, he would have signed for whatever the UFC is currently offering. I'm not saying the UFC has SCREWED him over, but they have asked him to do alot, and yanked him around a bit.
I think once he realized he wasn't getting what he (and I) thought he deserved professionally, he sought to make up for it by getting what he thinks he deserves financially.
Basically I think he would settle for less money if he got his fights, and would settle for not getting his fights if he got his money. He just doesn't want to give up BOTH without a fight, so to speak.

Shields also said he would sign with the UFC, and is still with Strikeforce. Sure, Mousasi has said that, and probably meant it, and could very well end up in the UFC. Still, you can't take it as a foregone conclusion that he will be in the UFC in the near future based simply on that. Things change. If Strikeforce signed a few good matchups for him and made him a good offer I could easily see him staying there. He's young and has plenty of time.

Keep fighting the good fight though.

I think Dan would run the table at Strikeforce. Don't really see anyone that can take him out.

Lastnight on "fight news" on the fight network, they made reference to this, and to expect a gegard/Hendo stare down after the Soko fight if Gegard wins. Obviously because Henderson trains with Soko, and hell, maybe he did sign? It makes me sad though, I really wanted to see him rematch spider, I think he woulda taken the re-match

Yeah he really is. Though I thought Lawler was going to beat him to dust and look what happended to him. I think Shields can submit anyone. I'm a striker so I could care less about jiu jitsu guys but you have to respect how dangerous shields is. If he takes you down your fucking history!

The Spider has influenced Dana and his #1 contender decision making. The Spider has also turned the MW division upside down by playing politics instead of fighting. He has been critisized for his last two fights wwhich were lackluster performances He doesn't want to fight Hendo Or belfort...he wasnts the Leites...the sandmans and the forrests. He is avoiding the Hendos and the belforts.


Now Hendo going to strikeforce really makes things interesting. Mousasi has trained with fedor and has skills anywhere the fight goes. imagine the staredown...damn.
