i like the fedor vs hunt fight it will be good...was kinda hopin for barnett or cro cop though

Fedor vs. Hunt is a good main event, but seeing as Mirko is the OWGP winner shouldn't he get a shot at Fedor first. He and Barnett have the best chance of beating him. I'm also looking at this list, and it says Mirko's opponent might be Barnett. Why? They've fought three times and Mirko beat him all three. They should have Barnett fight Wand and Cro Cop avenge his loss to Minotauro.

why wouldn't They have Josh/Fedor for the belt? If cop ain't ready? Actually i get it Barnett's been a busy dude this passes year. Hunt dont deserve a title shot. Pride should just throw out the belts and have GP's instead!

Not too sure. I thought it would be Fedor vs Barnett also. Maybe because Mirko is next in line for the title they wanted to put Fedor against someone that doesn't have as much of a chance to beat him, so they can still have the Fedor/Mirko fight for the belt down the line. Mirko will be fighting an easier opponent as well, since he's still recovering from surgery. Also I think they might be setting up Barnett/Nog II, since their 1st fight were pretty close, and Nog wants a rematch bad.

I'm just glad it's a title shot against an actual top 10 fighter or near top 10 fighter, and not a non title shot against someone like Giant Silva

i dont think Barnett wants to have like 3 fights in the space of 4 months. he fought the OWGP, had a war with Nog, and lost to CC. then he fought a roided-up Nastula.

and CC already said he refused to fight Fedor because he's not 100% after his surgery


Hunt is going down and getting subbed. he needs to work on his judo and wrestling to force Fedor to play his game
Fedor doesnt rely on wrestling to take people down, so the mix of judo and wrestling would help him stop the throw/takedown, as well as his ability to go up

should be an incredible fight. if this stays standup, Hunt MIGHT have a chance.

right now im saying 98% Fedor is gonna win. I wouldn't be surprised at all of Hunt pulled off a crazy win. Hunt is known for doing the unexpected (remember the atomic butt drop against Wandy or during K1 where he would ask the opponent to strike his face again and again...hilarious)

actually Barnett did fight 3 times in less than 2 months. He had 2 fights at Final Conflict Absolute in September, then his match vs Nastula at PRIDE 32 in October. This would be his 4th fight in 4 months. He is scheduled to fight at Shockwave 2006, just not against Fedor. He'll most likely have a rematch against Nog, if not Nog, then possibly a fight with Yoshida.

Barnett has my vote for fighter of the year and the most durable fighter this year as well as he has fought 6 times this year with his only loss being to Cro Cop and defeating 3 top 10 HW's. Aleks, Hunt and Nog and Nog was #3 at the time and Aleks is top 5 right now in my book right behind Nog.

And I completely agree with you regarding the Hunt vs Fedor fight not being a Fedor vs barnett fight becasue there is too much at risk for them as Fedor vs Cro Cop is a massive draw so there is way too much money to be lost if Barnett were to pull off the win against Fedor and Barnett is certainly capable of doing it as their sub game is basically even, wrestling pretty even as well and Barnett can stand with Fedor (not saying he wins the standup but he is capable of out striking Fedor).

Fedor will win via sub and will not look to GNP Hunt too much as you break your hands on that guys melon, it's made of stone and the last thing Fedor needs is another hand surgery.
