Default PRIDE Officially Announces Mark Hunt vs. Fedor For Shockwave 2006
DSE has officially announced Fedor Emelianenko vs. Mark Hunt for the PRIDE HW title at the Shockwave 2006 NYE show. They have also added to their list of possible opponents for the event.

Now that should be one helluva fight. The only disadvantage I see for Hunt is the ground game. If he keeps it standing he may pull it off. Of course I am still going with Fedor. I really wanted to see Barnett vs Fedor or Cro Cop vs Fedor 2.

What???? Gonna be an awesome fight, but I thought the OWGP winner, Mirko, was due a title shot? I guess it's just that he's next in line. Oh well, should make for a great fight.

If you look at the entire list of possible fighters, I can only see that ALL the fights will be competitive, very few will be lopsided. Great card. So I wonder who Mirko's fighting.
Nogueira seems to be the only viable option, as he is the only other HW besides Barnett, who Mirko will likely never face in his career ever again.

Nogueira VS Mirko sounds great. But I guess PRIDE's kinda counting on Mirko winning? (since he's guaranteed a title shot anyways)

Not a bad main event at all. Fedor prob try to bang with Hunt at first since he's a crazy Russian and if that doesnt work out like I'm sure it wont he'll just take Hunt to the ground.

Nope this will be a first. He's only had 7 fights in his professional MMA career but he's already fought the likes of Wand, CroCop and Barnett. His last fight was with Barnett back in July. Barnett submitted him.

shitty main event imo. After seeing the Barenett/Hunt fight, Fedor will sub Hunt in under two min.
