Brock Lesnar's longtime friend and Jiu-Jitsu coach tells TMZ the hospitalized fighter WILL return to the Octagon -- and he guarantees Brock will return to battle condition in the next six months.
We spoke with Rodrigo "Comprido" Medeiros -- a 7-time World Jiu-Jitsu champ -- who tells us the reigning UFC heavyweight champ "is getting better and that is the most important thing ... He will be fine and be fighting again within 6 months."
Medeiros adds, "I can just say that the heavyweights can stop laughing and get ready to start crying because the champion will be back soon."
As we previously reported, Lesnar had been hospitalized due to a mysterious intestinal disorder. UFC president Dana White claimed the illness is so severe, Brock may never fight again.
Good to hear he will be back sometime. The worst thing he can do is rush back. Let's hope he takes his time and listens to the doctor's & trainer's advice.
Not sure I'm buying into the whole 6 month thing, you can never put a time limit on Mono. Although many can have it under control within a month or 2 period with proper eating/therapy.
I do however trust in Brock's team over anything Dana says, I see Dana hyping this as some sort of "impossible comeback" (which would actually be some good marketing).
Whatever the case, I'm just happy to hear he will be back, I was worried there for a minute
for Brock to come back full force we may have to endure 6 month wait.... but better that than he comes back too fast...otherwise Carwin, Cain, or DosSantos could win that fight... I will have some nerves before that return fight
Man, I hope he comes back when he's 100% and not before. On the flip side, do you think this will affect the decision to have an Interim Title? 6 months is Mayish, and I believe the Cain/Velasquez Interim Title fight thats ben rumored was going to take place in March? Just a thought.

^^^ The only thing that makes me think against them NOT having an interm Champ is that Nog is injured, they need to keep Cain & Carwin active, no way I see either one of them sitting for 6 months it's not gonna happen. There's no one else for either one of them to fight but eachother, UFC has no choice IMO.
An interm belt makes for great marketing also, nothing better to promote then "Champion vs Champion" and on top of that "The ultimate impossible comeback" of Lesner that I see them hyping.
BTW, 6 months from now would be May, 2 months after the rumored March fight. I can see them giving Lesner an extra month to make sure he is 100%. I say he makes a June return to fight the Interm Champ, sounds like the most logical scenario considering what the UFC is dealing with.
Glad to hear he is doing better. Like others have said, even if it takes 6 months, or 8 months, to me, it doesnt really matter as long as he doesnt rush back before he is ready.
If any of what Dana said is true I could see the doctors not allowing him to fight for over 6months. Also agree on PIZ point this could be Dana hyping it up too. How is Cain concidered a #1 contenter yet when you have Mir & Nog as the last title holders.
It's just good to hear he's gonna be ok. Even if he doesn't fight anymore, which he probably will from this info, it be a real shame if he wasn't able to recover.
