I doubt any fighters get a cut of PPV revenues. Although the pay scales seem inconsistent, you have to think the fighters who are working under older contracts have less of a downside guarantee. It's only recently that salaries have seen a major jump.

You may recall the Ortiz fiasco from a couple of years ago where he refused to defend the title because he wasn't making enough.

As for Sylvia, he doesn't deserve anywhere near the money he's making. Another boring outing for him and I'm sure he'll either mysteriously get injured, or have another positive steroid test. I can't believe Dana bought that chump a Hummer after winning the belt.

Usually HW champions get paid more money. The same thing goes in boxing. I don't know why but HW champions are usually mopre prestigious than lighter weight classes.

Except in UFC the LH champ still gets roughly double of what the HW champ makes. With good reason, I might add.

Overall the payouts increased. No one was getting boned with $3,000 or anything. I give a little props to the UFC for that...but Monson got fucked. Fat lazy Mir made almost three times what he made. Vera must be the "truth" if he is making that much money already. It is just more incentive for him to fight Sylvia, because the UFC wants Timmay! out of the HW belt as much as most of the people on this forum.
