| UFC Expects Brock Lesnar Back by July 2010 UFC Expects Brock Lesnar Back by July*2010 - Bloody Elbow Quote:
MMA Weekly talks to Greg Nelson, Lesnar's head coach:
Greg Nelson, a two-time cancer survivor who leads Lesnar's fight camps along with Erik Paulson and Marty Morgan, said the UFC heavyweight champ is still recovering from a severe case of diverticulitis (an infection in the digestive tract), but wants to get back into the gym.
Heavy.com adds more:
Heavy.com has learned from UFC sources that the company is internally targeting July as a potential return date for Lesnar and that the Lesnar/Carwin bout could headline the UFC's initial foray into Massachusetts. A July date has been secured with the TD Garden in Boston for a card that will serve as the centerpiece of the UFC's summer 2010 schedule.
Please note that much of the information that came from Dana White regarding Lesnar's health has not been borne out. Nelson confirms to MMA Weekly that Lesnar never went to the Mayo Clinic for instance.

Did Dana ever actually say that Brock went to the Mayo Clinic? I know that he said he was going to go, but I don't recall him saying he did go.
I wonder what other stuff they refer to by "much of the information"...

I wonder what other stuff they refer to by "much of the information"... | I did read a quote from Dana saying Brock had a hole in his intestine.
I do wonder with the long lay off will Brock gain or lose weight?

I think that would be a pretty fast return, maybe even unrealistically fast. He isn't going to be able to just tough this out because I'm sure that any AC is going to examine him pretty carefully before they grant him a license, so he will have to be fully recovered before he fights. That could very likely take longer than 6 months.

And you need to keep in mind that once hes cleared he needs to get back in shape. It its as serious as first reported we wont be seeing Brock for a while.

I am not a huge Brock fan, but I am glad he is better. Now to his career, Brock take your time and come back 100%. Get back in shape and cardio right, cause Carwin is a monster like you.
Really I hope Brock takes his time and comes back in shape and ready to fight.
