| Overeem's bout with Arlovski at DREAM cancelled Arlovski Camp Planned to Face Overeem at*Dynamite - Head Kick Legend Quote:
The camp for Andrei Arlovski has gone public with their disappointment over a planned Dynamite clash with Alistair Overeem falling through. Arlovski had apparently been offered the fight with Overeem and accepted it. The former UFC champion only learned about Overeem v. Fujita during the Dynamite press conference. According to Arlovski's manager Leo Khorlinsky:
I actually just got off the phone with the Japanese person who was handling the communication and paperwork with me, and he basically did not have a logical explanation or any comment in regards to it... That's the fight that we were officially offered by DREAM. And actually several days earlier we received the paper work from Japan to go and obtain a Japanese VISA.
Japanese promoters can be notoriously suspect in their dealings, but if this is true, it really is horribly bad business. This would have clearly been a huge fight, and for Arlovski to be officially offered it, then have it taken away with no word is simply no way to treat someone.
Of course, this will also add plenty of fuel to the "Alistair is ducking top competition" flames, as Fujita may be a legend, but in 2009 he is obviously not remotely in Arlovski's league. The idea of Arlovski v. Overeem is actually a very intriguing match-up. Let's hope they get it together in the future.

Its no surprise really. AO is a big draw over their, and Japanese promoters will do alot to make him happy. And AA isnt that big over their, so they dont give a fuck. AA should try to get signed by Bellator or SF and knock out three peeps, then go back to the UFC.

Jeeeeeeez...AO vs AA would have been a great fight...both are elite strikers with power in those hands...too bad the fight isnt happening, would have made the Dynamite card more exciting...well w/e i guess we will have to see AO ktfo somebody who just shouldnt be in the ring wit him.

Honestly, at this point, Overeem is just a joke in my honest opinion. The man is ducking the United States (possibly) because he can't take "steroids" here. He is (possibly) ducking opponents that could tarnish his record. I'm not saying he needs to come to the UFC to build a legacy, but the Heavyweights in Strikeforce are galaxies ahead of most of the guys in K-1. I'm not sure if it is his management that is making the calls here or if AO even has a hand in what is going on. Certainly at this point somebody has to have gone up to him and said "hey the internet thinks you're a joke, seriously, ask your managers.... oh they said everybody loves you? what liars!"
From what I heard they had both signed the paperwork and had been told the fight was on. That to me should be lawsuit city right? I mean AA is working to put food on the table then they are like.... oopsie we might have given AO too hard of an opponent and now his management wants us to give him a walk in the park. Honestly at this point, I refuse to even put Overeem in my top 10 Heavyweights till he fights somebody in the top 10. Thats how salty this is making me.
The Japanese promoters are going to watch as their precious Fujita gets his face punched and kneed to smithereens when he could be fighting a fighter closer to his calibur. Seems lately the Japanese promoters have loved to watch their icons get thier asses handed to them.
Man this dude is just..... WOPIGD:FJSDN:OIHG{A)}(U@+#)(*UT@+)* that is me smashing the keys in frustration...
(is " WOPIGD:FJSDN:OIHG{A)}(U@+#)(*UT@+)* " considered fighter bashing?)

Manohman, Overeem's got that old Karo Parysian attitude of entitlement and a massive chip on his shoulder and this would've been one AMAZING bout.

just another reason why strikeforce should jus strip him of the belt. he isnt a true champion. He wont defend it he doesnt want to fight top competition. He called out Fedor but i dont see him making any progress of making that happen. He is a little coward and he also jus got his ass whooped in K-1 so that probably makes even more of a puss.

And its starting to look like he doesn't want to fight any top competition anymore. This would have been a really incredible fight too.
