Default Koscheck vs. Diego 2?

So with high-profile rematches seeming like the flavor of the year, fast-rising welterweight contender Josh Koscheck wouldn’t mind getting into the “let’s do it one more time” mix. Less than a month before facing tough Canadian Jeff Joslin at the Ultimate Fight Night on December 13, Kos, as his friends call him, sent a clear message when asked who he wanted to fight in 2007.

“Diego Sanchez,” he said without any hesitation. “I don’t like his attitude. He is too cocky. Plus, I think would be a big fight. Hey, I’d pay (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva money to let me fight Diego Sanchez in my next fight.”

I want this fight to take place as well but in mid-late 2007 as Kos still needs to work on his standup and he will have to work on a ground game when fighting Diego.

Kos is by far the better wrestler without question but Diego is so much quicker I would give him the wrestling advantage and certainly submission advantage. If they lock up I give the advantage to Kos as he is much larger and stronger than Diego.

Diego would try to keep the fight standing IMO and work a ground game in the later rounds to try and wear down Kos and you have to give the cardio advantage to Diego as he trains with the jackson camp and Diego, Rashad and Jardine all have phenomenal cardio.

In a 5 round fight I would go with Diego and right now in a 3 round fight I would go with Diego as well but in mid-late 2007 it maybe a different story but not likely as I see a ton of potential in Diego so in 7 months he will likely have progressed at a higher rate than Kos.

I think Kos will be a force at WW though and if he can get his game together I think he could become champion as he is Hughes and GSP's size which is huge for a WW and he has dominant wrestling and KO power in the standup so if he is able to develop goodt boxing skills I think he can become champion at some point in his career.

I would rather see kos move upto 185 and fight leben again. That would be a good fight.

id like to see Diaz v Koscheck before given kos a rematch, it would be a classic smash talking bout.

after joslin wins the next fight maybe he will move up in weight. but i think diego would beat him relatively easy.
