Yeah... i'm going to have to agree with everyone else here. What he said makes perfect sense to me. Which part was so confusing to the writer i wonder?
MMA = shows only the "ends of martial arts" by showcasing fighters trying to beat the snot out of each other using all the techniques that they have learned.
Traditional Martial Arts = learning the philosophy, discipline, and building character to make sure that the techniques that are learned are never used to purposely hurt someone but instead used to protect and defend.
*The Chuck could still kick his ass though
The Chuck is Chuck Norris, not Chuck Liddell

Good find....makes perfect sense what he said. And he's right. BTW, his cop show on A&E was the highest rated new show on their channel, ever.

I agree what he's sayin but there will and always will be competition of any sports that people do. You can't be the best by jus doing something, you have to compete with others to truly kno who is the best of this and that. I appreciate the fact that he knows what MMA is trying to bring today and isn't talkin crap. People that don't appreciate the sport today have to get that mma isn't barbaric and that it's jus a way to showcase your skills with the hands and feet we were born with.

At least thats what I got out of it, I dunno, I'm not fluent in mojo priest. | lol! mojo priest

They make up the majority of fans who watch the UFC. |

I don't see how you can rag on the guy for what he just said. I can also say I agree with him to a certain degree. It would appear that Dana White and all these other T-shirt companies are attempting to promote martial arts as violence when a lot of martial arts are meant for peace. To counteract aggression and violence with skill and intelligence. However, I personally don't look to martial arts for advice on how to be a better human and I see mma as strictly sport. Sure there has been a douche bag explosion due to the mma explosion but I think douche bags make a sport legit, think about it.

While I understand and to a great degree agree with him, I can't help but think that he is being a little hypocritical. How do his movies do anything different. Sure they are fiction but they show him using martial arts to beat the shit out of people. People may take martial arts after they see UFC with the possible thought of fighting people but I would say (at least back in the '80s and 90's) just as many kids took martial arts wanting to beat up people like Chuck Norris, Van Damme or Segal.
