some fighters need to learn to tap and fight another day, maybe hirota learned something. aoki acted like a dickhead but that wont stop most people from watching his fights, im sure more people know about him now since he made the aol welcome screen.

first off, there was no way he could tap since one arm was trapped and the other was busy being broken. A lot of fighters won't verbally aubmit.

Breaking the arm is one thing but flipping the bird was completely uncalled for.

I think it was a dick move, getting people in America talking about you one way or the other is a good thing. If he can come over here and beat Melendez, he's gonna cash in if he signs with UFC or SF. Controversey creates cash.
On the flip side (no pun intended), did he show you anything last night that would indicate he has a chance against BJ? I think Penn throttles him pretty easily, but still some interesting matchups for Aoki in either org.

The arm break wasn't classless. The guy refused to tap.

The finger was classless. I am ashamed of Aoki. Absolutely ashamed. I expect that garbage from Brock Lesnar, the Diaz brothers, etc. Not from him.

I'm not saying this one act has condemned him forever in my mind. I still think he's a nice guy and a great fighter, but this was way out of character and I hope I don't see more of it.

You guys don't remember him parading around after subbing a 0-0 fighter? Or storming off in tears after losing to Sakurai? Or throwing a temper tantrum after Garcia subbed him in ADCC? You guys need to watch more Aoki fights if any of this is new
