I wonder if the "reopened negotiations" between UFC and M-1 have anything to do with this. I may be wrong but it was my understanding that Fedor owns all of his fighting footage.
I wonder how far these new negotiations are going.

well when the UFC bought PRIDE they got the rights for everythng and everyone.. thats why when SF does shows they never show PRIDE clips of their fighters, they show clips of fedor against andrei, big pussy tim and bodog.
and why wouldnt the ufc show them fight? it will be a big draw for spike.

Is Dana that confident the UFC will sign Fedor? Maybe this was just a misprint, I don't know. I can't believe I still hope that Fedor will sign with the UFC when the odds seem so against it. Maybe Fedor will end up being the interim champ and fight Brock if he comes back...a guy can hope. Can you imagine the PPV buys for that one?

very sexcited about this, i've always loved watching pride more than the ufc, guess its the mixture of japanese atmosphere, bigass arenas, crazy announcer chick, white ring...seemed much more open than the ufc shows...always feels clustered with seats and bs

The bad thing for UFC is that the people that dont know about Pride are going to realize how good it was, they will realize that UFC is nothing compared to Pride. And if they are going to show the opening ceremonies and the entrances....Damn, even worse because the entrances in Pride were epic, the entrances in UFC are boring.
BTW what are they going to show about Lidell? He fought just twice in Pride and lost against Rampage.
I hope they will show Alexander, Kharitonov, Minowaman, Arona, Sakuraba etc.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was a Lorenzo decision, as it really should have nothing to do with dana anyway...and it also would not surprise me if Lorenzo were trying to smooth future negotiations with Fedor and M1 by trying to undo some of the negative bullshit spin dana has been applying since his talks were unsuccessful.
