Hope no one in this topic also has issues with the UFC's payrolls...

That being said, the UFC is never going to put a dent in this thing. Most of the streams are happening overseas and things of that nature. For the most part, they can't do much.
Here's an idea UFC, lower your rate and more people will order it. Sorry, but it is $50 for 3 hours. And I love MMA, but they are nuts if they think that 12x$50=$600 a year on their PPVs is fair to the fans just to keep up with one organization. That's the crime.
Knock it down to $35 an event and it is reasonable. That's 12x$35=$420 a year. Hell, make deals where people can order every event ahead of time for $400. If they want to fix this, they need to start making things affordable for the fans who want to watch every event. | This is a great idea. Now that the ufc is putting on more and more shows, the price could probably go to $25 PPV and still make a killing if done right, then more people would want to see it on their big screen tv's and not on their laptops. When there were ony like 3 or 4 PPV's a year, 45 bucks ok, but now that it's 10-12? No sir.
Like anything else, when you start to mass produce, more and more people start to buy, then the price has to come down. No way around it. Something is going to give, and soon, specially with our friends at SF doing such a great job. If the price doesn't come down soon for UFC events, I may switch my pledge of Alligiance to the land of SF.
I usually watch the fights alone, and with my good buddy MJ. So for us loner freaks, it gets expensive. We are going somewhere else thankyou Dana. Don't get me wrong, we have been faithful, but don't expect to make $500 to $600 a year for the PPV's. Now that we got you to where you are, it's up to you to put us where we need to be to keep things Kosher.

Going after piracy is a waste of money, but it's not an unjust cause.
I make an effort to organize a group of people to split the bill for just about every UFC PPV card. It's more fun to have people to watch with, plus it's cheaper, but I'm still trying to support the UFC. I don't like all of their business practices and I don't like their anti-competition methods, but I still want to see them exceed and bring more fans to sport.
I understand for some people (especially broke ass college kids) that these cards are totally unaffordable singularly. But if you can get a group together and just chip in $5 each, then do it. It's going to raise salaries for Dana White and the higher ups for sure, but it's also going to help the fighters and the sport is going to grow.

If they want to fix this, they need to start making things affordable for the fans who want to watch every event. | I think $45 or $50 for the HDTV PPV is rather fair, to be honest. That's the standard price for most sports and non-sports PPV such as Boxing and Professional Wrestling. However, dropping the price down a tad couldn't hurt them, I'd think, so maybe $35 a pop is rather reasonable. It would probably get more people to buy.
Anyways, I would like to wish UFC the best of luck with that, lol.

I wonder if Dana will also try to crack down on those who host UFC parties at their houses with 10-20 friends all watching. LOL! Not even Vince McMahon nor Don King after all these years have waged war on online piraters. Dana is indeed an innovator. |

the funny thing about this is that he expects websites to fork over a bunch of IP addresses, but an IP address can be changed not all of them are static. I change my IP address once a month just for fun, and well security purposes.

I get them free on the US Armed Forces Network, so I can not complain I unlike the post above do wake up at 0400 to watch the events. The only part that sucks is I like to have a beer while watching...but I can not bring myself to drink at 4 in the morning. lol
