| UFC 108 medical suspensions: Hazelett, Munoz out for up to six months UFC 108 medical suspensions: Hazelett, Munoz out for up to six months | MMAjunkie.com Quote:
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has issued medical suspensions to seven fighters from this past Saturday's "UFC 108: Evans vs. Silva" event, and co-main event competitor Dustin Hazlett and preliminary card winner Mark Munoz could be out of action for up to six months.
While the remainder of the suspensions were limited to 30 days or less, Hazelett and Munoz were each suspended until July for a variety of both confirmed and potential fractures.
MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) recently requested and today received the full list of suspensions from the NSAC.
UFC 108 took place Jan. 2 at The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In the night's headliner, Rashad Evans defeated fellow light heavyweight contender Thiago Silva via unanimous decision.
Hazelett's suspension comes after a brutal knockout loss to British slugger Paul Daley in the evening's co-feature. Munoz received the same lengthy suspension despite earning a win via submission-by-punches. Both fighters can be cleared early by the proper medical specialists.
The full list of suspensions included:
Dustin Hazelett: Suspended until July 2 due to right orbital blowout and nasal fractures; can return after March 4 if cleared by an ENT doctor, but no contact until Feb. 2
Sam Stout: Suspended until Feb. 2 with no contact until Jan. 23 due to left forehead laceration
Gilbert Yvel: Suspended until Feb. 2 with no contact until Jan. 23 for precautionary reasons
Jacob Volkmann: Suspended until Feb. 2 with no contact until Jan. 23 for precautionary reasons
Mark Munoz: Suspended until July 2; can return earlier if cleared by an orthopedic doctor after x-raying right hand, wrist and elbow
Ryan Jensen: Suspended until Jan. 23 with no contact until Jan. 16 for precautionary reasons
Mike Pyle: Suspended until Feb. 2 with no contact until Jan. 23 for precautionary reasons

Wow, Daley jacked him up pretty good. Damn, 6 months before we get to see McLovin again, that sucks.

6 months is a worse case scenario for them, most of them should be able to get medically cleared within about 3-4 months.
