First off, the absolute last people who should be saying other fighters don't deserve title shots are Ed Soares and Anderson Silva. One win over Chris Leben isn't enough to warrant a shot. Belfort's victory over Franklin is considerably more impressive than what Silva did to get his shot. Even if it was at 195 lbs.
Secondly if this fight does happen in late April or May then Silva should be stripped of his title. Unless marred by a major injury (see Mir vs bike) there is no excuse for not defending your title for more than twelve months. Instead of defending, Silva chose to take a fight against an opponent at another weight class who was tailormade to make him look good. Thats completely disrespectful to all the MW fighters.
