This card has two number 1 contender matches in it. If Randy beats Coleman hes getting a LHW title shot. And if Nate takes out Chael, he gets Anderson again. Thats why Nate took this fight, Chael just schooled one of the top contenders in the division, he deserves this fight.

yeah, but he did destroy an okami who has been out of the fight game for a year due to injury. i just dont think that the guy deserves the fight more than half of the guys in the mw division. could have easily gone to a wandy or akiyama or plenty of other guys instead

I kinda feel bad for Sonnen guy works his way to the top in WEC and becomes the big fish in a little pound . moves to the UFC and sure he is a top tier fighter but in the UFC at 185 he is a very small fish in an ocean of sharks

What the fuck is with all the people talkin shit about this card? "another disappointing card" my ass. I would pay $50 to see this any day, as well as any other PPV event lately that a lot of people have been talking shit about. You people arent the fighters in that cage, doing what they do. It doesnt matter if a fight doesnt "mean much" to the title at the moment, they are all still good FIGHTS.

Randy VS Mark, is a badass fight. Two American UFC vets/ Hall of Famers, battling for the first time, finally. This is a great FIGHT. They both possess outstanding wrestling skills. This should be a war. Plus, these guys are both almost 50 fucking years old and still banging. I hope to God i can be in the shape theyre in when im that old. These guys should have fought a long time ago. Awesome fight.

Nate Vs Sonnen. Yeah, a lot of us want to see Nate get back in the cage with Anderson, but the UFC isnt going to make that happen yet. Sonnen isnt as bad as you all make him out to be, hes still a great competitor even though hes boring. That being said, why not in the meanwhile enjoy watching Nate the Great knock the fuck out of Sonnen, which is whats going to happen, and put another win under his belt and a highlight reel, against a fighter who just kicked Okamis ass, a former contender.

Swick VS Thiago. This guy Thiago will have fought the entire AKA trio after this fight. Thats hilarious. He knocked the fuck out of Kos, and lost a decision (surprise) to Fitch. Lets see what he can do against Swick, whos coming off his loss to Hardy. Thiago displayed some pretty good striking skills against that guy with the fucked up haircut, Volkmann. I say he TKOs Swick, hopefully. Great FIGHT.

Maia VS Miller. We get to see one of the best BJJ artists in the division come back from one of the most devastating KO's of 2009/ever. Thank you Nate. Millers only UFC loss is against Sonnen, who got choked out by Maia in the first round. This should be over quick for Miller.

Serra VS Trigg. Why not??? I like Serra, its good to see him back. Besides, hes going to knock the fuck out of Trigg and thats never disappointing. Ever. Plus, this is the shit talking match too.

You got Guillard back, who has the power to KO any lightweight... lost to Nate in my opinion because he got careless. Hes fighting a newcomer, Ronnys Torres, whos making his debut. Debuts are always interesting, you never know what someone can bring. This guy has a clean record to, 14-1, and is an addition to LIGHTWEIGHT.

Phil Davis VS Stann. If you've read anything about Phil, then you already know why this is a very interesting fight, who is making his UFC debut as well in the LIGHT HW division.

Hague VS Chris. You got one guy who fell victim to being knocked out quicker than anyone in UFC fucking history. 7 seconds. Damn. And Another who lost his UFC debut against Gonazaga by TKO first round. Both have much to prove. Should be over quick. I smell a KO/TKO.

Rolles GRACIE VS Turk. Enough Said. Theres a HEAVYWEIGHT Gracie making his UFC debut.

Fuck you if you think this card sucks. Im buying it.

I didnt see Sonnen/Okami. Did Sonnen actually destroy Okami? I saw Maia destroy Sonnen...and Nate destroy Maia. I am glad though that the Okami bandwagon finally came to a stop. If even Anderson says Nate is the next great 185lb champ, doesnt he deserve someone better than Sonnen? But I guess the next logical question would be who is available to fight Nate? The Sonnen matchup coulda been just a matter of Sonnen being the highest ranked available.

Nice looking card for sure.

Battle of the legends.. or should I say Hall Of Famers. A classic wrestler vs wrestler. Love it and have been heavily anticipating this fight quite the time. And whilst a huge, huge fan of both fighters.. I've got 5 on Randy.

Marquardt vs Sonnen interests me a lot. This fight could be Nate's instant access to another crack at Anderson Silva for the title or.. a step down the ladder should the wrestling machine pull an upset. Fan of both, but I'll always root for my fellow wrestler. However, if anybody deserves a title shot, then it's definitely Nate Marquardt. Also, I don't think is a senseless fight, quite the opposite, actually. Whilst Marquardt is the unofficial no. 1 challenger to Silva's title, Sonnen is the uncrowned WEC Champion. Both fighters have huge wins over top contenders in Maia and Okami. That said, I have a feeling this fight will be a chess match.

The rest of the card looks sweet, but not exactly Strikeforce: MIAMI looking sweet. But we'll see, eventually. Anyways, the thread title needs a fix as I almost pissed myself after seeing Swick/Alvez.. Damn you, lol.

Coleman Couture is not interesting to me at all, I predict a 3-roun battle for underhooks up against the cage.

I think Thiago will tko swick, and hope.

Demian should be able to get Dan to the ground and sub him early, but who knows, he could always knock Demian out before he gets the TD

Its funny how the UFC just uses Mostapha Al turk as a tune up or a warm up for all of the hyped fighters

Is it just me or is everyone sick of main events that don't mean anything. If there isn't a title fight or some kind of a grudge match then I find it really hard to be excited for a card. Fewer title defenses and more ppvs and events are not a recipe for success right now. The MMA fanbase still needs to grow to take it mainstream and cards like this do not help.

I am looking forward to Sonnen/Marquardt. Sonnen has done nothing but impressed me lately....he deserves this opportunity to step into the top tier.
