The UFC today officially announced a recently reported contest between welterweights Mike Swick (14-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) and Paulo Thiago (12-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) for February's "UFC 109: Relentless" event.
Swick stepped in as a replacement for Josh Koscheck when his teammate was forced off the card with an injury.
While Koscheck and Thiago were originally scheduled in the evening's co-main event, the organization has promoted a middleweight fight between top contenders Nate Marquardt (29-8-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) and Chael Sonnen (24-10-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC) to the co-feature slot.
Featuring a main event between UFC Hall-of-Famers Mark Coleman and Randy Couture, "UFC 109: Relentless" takes place Feb. 6 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The main card airs live on pay per view.
With the newly confirmed bout, UFC 109 now includes:
MAIN CARD
•Mark Coleman vs. Randy Couture
•Nate Marquardt vs. Chael Sonnen
•Mike Swick vs. Paulo Thiago
•Demian Maia vs. Dan Miller
•Matt Serra vs. Frank Trigg
PRELIMINARY CARD
•Justin Buchholz vs. Mac Danzig
•Melvin Guillard vs. Ronnys Torres
•Rob Emerson vs. Phillipe Nover
•Phil Davis vs. Brian Stann
•Tim Hague vs. Chris Tuchscherer
•Rolles Gracie vs. Mostapha Al Turk

There are a lot of intriging fights on this card. If it was free, it would be a real good card. But for $50....not so much. Really want to see the Davis/Stann and Gracie/Turk fights, hope they show those on the prelims on Spike.
