Tyson was asked to host this Raw almost a month ago, if not longer. It's just a coincidence.

While I haven't watched wrestling for almost 12 years now I can certainly respect those that do it.The PPV numbers are a bit of a sore spot when compared to the UFC's but the WWE still makes a ton of money. 300+ shows a year, 12-15 ppv's, 3 weekly TV shows, 100% of the merchandising... Vince McMahon is not hurting for cash.
I bet Dana wishes he had the stranglehold on the clothing market associated with MMA that Vince does with pro-wrestling. Honestly if you think about it TapouT, Affliction, Silverstar etc are all cutting into the UFC's potential profits. I can see Dana attempting to exclude or acquire some of those companies soon.

Vince & Co. are far from shaking in their boots at the impending showdown on Monday night between the two broadcasts. However, Vince sees the growth of MMA and I GUARANTEE he grumbles every time he sees his PPV buyrates (in comparison to the UFC). They share several key demos. Hell, I'm one of them. I'm a guy who hasn't purchased a WWE PPV in 5 years, but I buy AT LEAST half of the UFC's. I'm the guy that used to buy Smackdown Vs. Raw every year and now I'd rather spend my money on Undisputed.
Vince is very aware of this. Trust me. You don't issue press releases trying to convince people to purchase a wrestling PPV because they are guaranteed a long match and not a flash knockout if you don't perceive a competitor a threat.

I seriously have no idea why anyone over the age of 12 would watch the wrestling shows. It's laughable, especially when there is access to so much MMA now. It's like watching a football acting show over the NFL.

I agree with you.I watched wrestling up until TUF made air.I watched UFC early on but we went so long with out CPU in my home,I thought mma was no more.Until TUF.But wrestling had it's moments,in what I personally would call it's heyday.Heyday for me any way.Once I was able to predict EVERY single thing they were gonna do,top to bottom, let's just say UFC and mma exploded at the perfect time for me.

i agree w/ everyone - pro wrestling and mma are two different commodities. mma is real for one lol. with wrestling, you invest into the storyline more so the match itself. being a huge wrestling fan, the last thing i'll ever do is say its fake, but in comparison to mma, it aint real lol.
btw, rock is NOT coming bak on monday and as for tyson being host, i'm almost positive it has NOTHING to do w/ fight night. they've been having guest hosts for half a year now. what difference would it make if the host was tyson or jay leno? people arent tuning in to monday night raw to see tyson...they tune in for hornswoggle .

That's of course, if UFC does in fact aquire his services, which I have no doubt that they will... they should, anyway. Like I've said a few times in another thread, Shane McMahon can do nothing but good for UFC. And that my friend, is the truth.
Watching pro wrestling have nothing to do with age. It's like watching movies. Tell me once you've hit age 13, will you stop going to the movies or stop watching movie althogether? Sylvester Stallone doesn't actually kill people in RAMBO. Clint Eastwood didn't actually die in Gran Torino. Their characters killed and died in said movies and that's what Pro Wrestlers are, characters playing a movie in a ring and outside of it, at times.
Pro Wrestling isn't a sport, by the way, so comparing it to the NFL and MMA or using the NFL and MMA as an example is rather mind boggling. That said, I don't see why people care who watches pro wrestling and at what age.

Everybody whose familiar with the WWE knows that Vince is sure believer in ruthless aggression. Unless you got money and power like Ted Tuner run away.
