| UFC Rumorwatch: Lesnar's Condition Not Improving, Next Opponents for Penn and Daley UFC Rumorwatch: Lesnar's Condition Not Improving, Next Opponents for Penn and Daley Quote:
From a recent post on Brock Lesnar's official Facebook page:
NEW UPDATE!! Brock has had more problems (we can't say what they are) and he could be out all of this year if things don't get better. Brock wants to thank all of his fans for their support and for the nice messages so thanks guys.
Though we've yet to see the official update that we were promised this week, let this be your advance warning that Lesnar won't be returning this summer. In other unconfirmed news...
— SI's Josh Gross hears that Frankie Edgar will get the next shot at BJ Penn's lightweight belt in April, regardless of Gray Maynard's performance against Nate Diaz at UFC Fight Night 20 on Monday. Edgar (11-1, 6-1 UFC), most recently submitted Matt Veach at the TUF 10 finale, holds wins over Sean Sherk, Hermes Franca, and Tyson Griffin, and previously lost a decision to Maynard in April 2008.
— According to MMA Live host Jon Anik, a match between knockout artist Paul Daley and perennial top contender Josh Koscheck is being discussed for May or June. Between Daley's recent destructions of Martin Kampmann and Dustin Hazelett, and Koscheck's wins over Frank Trigg and Anthony Johnson, both guys have a lot of heat behind them right now. Feels like a #1 welterweight contender fight to us... |

NICE! i'm really happy for frankie. he has earned his shot after he beat sherk..
its not anyone that can beat tyson, fisher, hermes and sherk.. those are big names. i think his last match was a waste. Frankie finishes fights. unlike bump and grinder maynard.
put this fight at 111 in jersey!

put this fight at 111 in jersey! | Besides the fact that you are wrong about Edgar finishing people... he has finished two people in his 7 fights in the UFC. Maynard whooped him all over the octagon, I mean the fight was pretty one sided. How Edgar jumps Maynard is besides me.
They are probably saving Maynard (if he beats Diaz) for Maynard v. Gomi for the number 1 contender. So you might as well feed Edgar to Penn in the mean time.

I'm not sure if either guy could beat Penn, but they are both better wrestlers then Sanchez so we will see. Both guys also have really good hands, I think Edgar's hands looked just as good as Penn's did when comparing both of their fights with Sherk, but Penn definitely has more power. Should be a good fight, hopefully less one sided then Penn/Sanchez.

Sucks for Brock, I dont like the guy but he's the champ and I am a fight fan. Just hope he can recover and come back to his old self to persue the HW debate.
I like Daley vs Kosh, but I dont see the brit getting off his ass in this one... unless Kosh tries to bang yet again.
As for BJ, at this point I'm just happy to see him fight. Come on its BJ, Edgar or Maynard all lose that fight 999 times out of 1000. Sure hope Machida's brother can bring some kind of competition at LW.

Back to the subject...
Jeez what a waste, but who else can bj fight? Gray Maynard LOL
After a few more wins (3 or 4) at LW, if their dominant, BJ should reinquish his title and permanently move to WW and pursure a GSP fight again.
I know thats pretty far fetched but who else in the UFC LW division can fight BJ and actually have a chance at winning, i feel like frankie does deserve a shot i guess, but its just a waste of a main event.
Hopefully Gomi can come in, mix things up a bit, and bring a new freshness and hope to the division, but i doubt it
Brock Lesnar is bad off and Dana has underplayed it from day one, I really hope that he can return and show the world that he is potentially the best HW mixed martial artist in the world, I hope he can secure a legacy in the sport and show that old fashioned size coupled with speed can in fact succeed in the mixed martial arts world and that jiu-jitsu isn't necessarily everything.
Kos will probably knock Semtex out, he's came up fast and has some power, but I dont think he's on Kos's level, sadly so. I would like nothing more than for Daley to knock Kos's bobble head clean off.

Neither Edgar nor Maynard stand a chance against BJ. Plus I want Edgar to get the shot first purely because Maynard is the most boring fighter employed by the UFC. I hate Nate Diaz, but I hope he subs Maynard just so Maynard could be involved in a fight that doesn't go to decision.
