| Anthony Johnson vs. John Howard official for UFC Fight Night 21 main card Anthony Johnson vs. John Howard official for UFC Fight Night 21 main card | MMAjunkie.com Quote:
A long-awaited welterweight grudge match between Anthony Johnson (8-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) and John Howard (13-4 MMA, 3-0 UFC) is set for the UFC Fight Night 21 main card.
MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) first reported the likelihood of the bout last week, and UFC officials have since confirmed the fight is set for the UFC Fight Night 21 televised main card.
UFC Fight Night 21 kicks off a mini-broadcast deal with Versus and takes place March 21 at the Odeum Colorado in Broomfield, Colo.
It's the first of two 2010 UFC events expected to air on Versus.
The Johnson vs. Howard matchup concludes nearly a year of public feuding between the two rising prospects.
Johnson and Howard, of course, were originally slated to meet at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale in June 2009. However, Howard's management team reportedly didn't want the young fighter facing such a tough test so early in his career. And Johnson has publicly bashed Howard ever since because of that decision.
"[Howard] said it was his management's call that made him not accept the fight," Johnson told MMAjunkie.com back in April 2009. "But at the end of the day, it's really your call. You're the one fighting. You're the one that's got to go out there and do the damn thing, not your management."
Howard, a one-time IFL fighter who also competed for the New Jersey-based Ring of Combat promotion, owns a six-fight win streak and is 3-0 since his move to the UFC. In addition to split-decision wins over Chris Wilson and Tamdan McCrory, Howard also recently scored a come-from-behind third-round knockout of Dennis Hallman at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale.
Johnson, meanwhile, looks to rebound from his UFC 106 submission loss to Josh Koscheck. The defeat snapped the well-rounded fighterr's three-fight win streak, which included knockout wins over Kevin Burns, Luigi Fioravanti and Yoshiyuki Yoshida. Despite being an accomplished collegiate wrestler, Johnson prefers the stand-up game and has posted six knockouts in his eight career wins.

Does anyone have any links to John Howard's fights? The clip Ive seen of him was his last outting in the UFC where he got dominated in all 3 rounds. Then suddenly a magical rainbow dropped from the heavens giving him the power to knock out this guy in the last what 20 seconds?
Im curious as to why hes getting a fight with Anthony Johnson instead of someone like Daley.
rd
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. | In all honesty. What does it matter if he fought Daley or Johnson, chances are itll end the same way anyways. Just with Johnson it might be a kick instead of a punch.

Like I said before.... after AJ tears Howards asshole, they should throw him in with Daley. It needs to happen for the sake of KO's.
