LOL at BJ not training! edgar is superior to stevenson, and florian and bj trained for them right? To say such a thing is just plain retarded. On another note, PLEASE NO ONE SAY EDGAR IS TOO SMALL!!!! I always see that being said on the internet time and time again yet he still beats people bigger then him. The whole weight thing is blown WAYYYY out of proportion. Being the bigger guy is not just the standard goal like evryone makes it. How about a guy wants to come in ultra healthy because he doesent have to cut, he is used to fighting and training doing everything at that weeight, and alos maybe some guys would rather be lighter with more sped. Strneght and power aint shit if you cant catch someone. That being said, i love frankie edgar, but he is going to lose, and lose bad!!! Im just glad they didnt waste bj's talent on GAY maynard. I love how all the GSP dick suckers bashed bj for losing a fight to a cheater and now they see how good he can be when hes tip top. I love it! I say bring gsp again, bj already won the first fight against him imo.

Well, it's good to see no one on this board is fooling himself into thinking Edgar has that much of a chance. Let's just call this what it is: a time-killer until Gomi gets introduced to the UFC crowd and that rematch can be booked. That is, unless Gomi wilts under the pressure again...which, considering the possibility of him facing either Sanchez or Florian for his first fight, seems quite possible.

Don't get me wrong, Edgar's a very solid LW, easily top ten in the world, and you could make an argument for top 5. Completely shutting down Sean Sherk is nothing to sneeze at. And for the record, I have NO problem with Edgard getting the shot over Maynard, regardless of how their fight went down. Edgar's faced the better competition, and looked more impressive doing it.

Who is there really? There's a lot of fighters that would give B.J. Penn a competitive fight. Unfortunately, though, they aren't in the UFC. And that's why I had mentioned in another thread that UFC needs to bring them in. Like pronto, Tonto. Then, and only then, the UFC LW division will be given life back.

Yeah,I was just talking about in their own companies. Hence why everyone I named fight for the same promotion.

No its not, and BJ has done it so many times before, so STFU. BJ was notorious for under-training, its not retarded to think he might slip up again for a lesser opponent.

By no means do I think Edgar is a lesser opponent. But BJ is a world above him. Even though Edgar beat Sherk, that wasnt the same Sherk as before. Look at what Maynard did to him, Sherk should of easily been able to take Edgar down and rough him up. Instead he stood and traded and lost a boxing match. I think Kenny and Joe Daddy are tougher guys then Edgar, same with Diego. Edgar is top 5 UFC LW, but hes the bottom 5. If I was Edgar I would have avoided this fight, for the simple reason Edgar isnt a master anywhere, hes just good all around. While BJ is a master on the ground, and very good on his feet.

The key to beating Bj is as follows:

Have a lanky build, like the lanky that Vera or Jones is.

Inside leg kicks and jabs for the first three rounds. Do not get in a slug fest, hit and run slow BJ down.

Round four start with the leg kicks then shoot for a double leg and hope to fuck you can get a T.K.O.

Not surprising after yet another decision victory by Maynard. Maybe if he had done more fighting instead of trash talking with Nate, he could have established himself as the No. 1 contender. Instead he comes out of the fight looking like he lost, and Edgar gets it.

I know Edgar might have got it anyway, but Gray's performance last night sealed the deal. Live and learn I guess, Randy will probably tear a strip off Maynard, he didn't look impressed with Gray's trash talking between rounds. Lol.
