WOW.
This is an explosive fight, stellar potential to seriously entertain.....but, Belcher's going to ruin Cote on the feet and just push to pace to the brink and as a comeback fight, Cote's wading into some pretty DEEP waters against a perennial title contender whose only improving and really finetuning his game. Technique-wise, Belcher's just getting better and while I always enjoy a good Cote fight, he needs to fight somebody a little further down the rungs upon his return after a year and a half off.

James Irvin is returning from a similarly LONG layoff and is a much more economylevel challenger for Cote to fight. There's also JMac who could be brought back for the Canadian card to challenge Cote. A guy like Drwal is on a pretty nice streak... And I know they just announced Rivera/Quarry, but THIS is the type of fight you have Nate Quarry under contract for, so he can really be the measuring stick to see how a fighter of above average skill is faring.

Belcher should be rematching Okami or testing himself against Palhares. I would've loved to see Franklin/Belcher at 185....

In a lazy mood (thats lasted a few years) so here are the rumors for the card so far.....

Lyoto Machida and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua are scheduled for a rematch for the Light Heavyweight Championship. At UFC 104 the two fought to a controversial unanimous decision for Lyoto Machida.[3]

Jonathan Goulet is also set to make his UFC return against Marcus Davis.[4]

Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson are expected to face each other at the event.[5] The pair were scheduled to face each other in Jackson's hometown of Memphis at UFC 107, but Jackson pulled out of the fight to accept a role in an upcoming A-Team feature film. Dana White confirmed that if Jackson wins by knockout or in impressive fashion, then he will get a title shot.[citation needed]

Jeremy Stephens vs. Sam Stout is being targetted for this card, bout agreements have been signed.[6]

Patrick Cote is set to make is return against Alan Belcher. [7]

Sure 108 may have lacked big name stars, and UFC 109 looks like a bit of a downer, but the next 3 or 4 after that are looking SICK!

YES! Welcome back Cote. And what I hard fight you have coming back to the UFC after such a huge layoff. I think people who are brushing this fight off are INSANE, it has FOTY potential, I have long said that Cote was the 2nd most under rated fighter in the UFC (behind Marquart) and Belcher is a rising star that has massive KO power but with an all around good MMA game in all areas.

If Cote is healthy I say he gets the TKO and jumps back into contender status and fights a top 3.

When his knee fucked up in the 3rd round against Anderson Silva, so about a year ago. He's had a long layoff, ring rust is gonna be an issue.
