This is what the ranking should look like. Maybe they're off, maybe there not. If AA was ranked third and big Tim beat him twice he should get that spot, whether its right or not. Thats how rankings go. Its hard to judge when Pride and UFC arent fighting the same competion whos should be higher and lower.

That is not how rankings work when UFC's HW division is so weak.

If that were even the case you can't support that arguement with putting Vera at no. 7.

Rankings are done by who they have beaten and how good they are as a fighter, you don't always need the competition to know who would beat who. Meaning we don't need to see Sylvia vs Barnett to know that Barnett would own Sylvia, asme thing with Nog, he would destroy Sylvia as well, Aleks, Werdum, Hunt and Kharitonov.

Vera would not be able to handle Aleks, there is no question about it. I would also put money on Kharitonov over Sylvia, AA and Vera.

A win over Werdum, a loss to Big Nog, Overeem (who is a top 10 lh but is huge and can fight at both weight classes) and a loss to Aleks (a fight in which he was dominating) who is another top ranked HW, Kharitonov is a top 10 HW, ther is no question.

Sylvia at No. 3 is just silly.

Otherwise i'd have to agree, i think he'd kick arlovskis ass any day.

i dont think vera belongs above 10 right now, 10 is a good place for him until he beats a few more good fighters or aa or tim

After a few more fights Vera will be in the top ten, if he beats Sylvia anyway.

yeah no kidding, I think I was the only one who had him in the top 10. He would kick AA's ass, Sylvia's ass and Vera's ass. He was punishing and picking apart Aleks before he got caught and he beat Werdum. Kharitonov is going to be in the top 5 by the end of 07 IMO, he is just phenomenal, great punching power, great takedown defense and is one of the top 3 counter puchers in MMA along with Cro Cop and Liddell.

I say we watch AA and vera go at it. Before we take AA off the list. I'm a fan of both guys. Wasn't really thrilled with AA performance in his last fight(I know he was hurt but no reason) and vera dominating mir.
