| If Randy wins. Title shot?
Listen if Couture wins this fight he will be on a two fight win streak.. He has had a shot before at the interim coming in off two losses to Barnett and Ricco then ofcourse we all know he beat Chuck for the Lhw interim strap then Tito for the unification match. He lost to Chuck in the third fight then came out of retirement for a title shot .. Now the UFC loves to put on big PPV's and The Natural will always draw especially if it is for a title, so if Randy were to go on to win I could see him getting a crack at the title on a two fight win streak.. and I think he matches up pretty well with the champ.. Does anyone else think this is going to happen?

I sure hope not. There's too much talent in the LHW to give it to Couture after COLEMAN. For example... Rashad is back in the mix with his last win, obviously Shogun is there with the next title shot, if Shogun wins they'll probably have Anderson fight him, Forrest is coming off a win, Rampage is back, etc etc etc.
If Couture wins I say give him anyone I mentioned above and if the gets past them, then he should very well be given a title shot

Randy would still have to fight a top fighter like Rampage/Shogun/Machida/Silva.
Who beats Vera and Coleman and gets a title shot? Come on.

Agreed with all of the above, hopefully he doesn't just jump to the head of the line because he's Randy Couture. Although with Randy shooting for a title, the UFC could make big $$$ putting him in there with the champ right away.

Randy has looked good for a 46 year old man in his last two fights, but he has only looked a shell of what he once was.
He is still has a good clinch game and can wrestle, but his quickness seems to be gone most notably his head movement and hand speed. Coleman/Couture is a good matchup because it is not really relevant to the title picture and he is fighting someone who is on the decline just like himself. The UFC is trying to squeeze out the last of his marketablilty with the current headline at UFC 109 and his days of being in the title picture are over. Unless of course the UFC feels there is still money in it.

No, I think he would need at least 2 more victories (after Coleman) to earn a title shot.
As far as I know it will be Shogun vs Machida for the title, and the winner of Rashad/Rampage will get the next title shot. So I think we wont see Randy holding a belt in a long time.

Ok, some of you really dont know what your talking about. First off.
Rashad- He lost to Machida, and just beat Thiago. Thiago just beat Jardine, but before that lost to Machida. In no way is Rashad deserving of a rematch against the champ at this time.
Forest- He just lost to Rashad, then split-dec a win over Tito. In no way does that push him for a title fight. Not to mention he trains out of Xtreme Couture, Im not sure how well that fight would go.
Rampage- He has two fights left on his contract. I dont see the UFC giving him a title fight unless he renews it.
Anderson- When will people learn to read. "LHW belt is for Machida."
Rua is getting the next title fight. If he looses again, he is faaaaaar down the ladder. If he wins then I think Dana will punish Machida a little. But who could Machida fight that he hasnt already beat, Randy. Randy will be riding two fights, and was a champion just 3 fights ago. Its not uncommon for a ex-champ to string two wins and get another shot.Sometimes 1 win will do it. Their are no other big LHW fights in the meantime. And Randy has some sway with the UFC brass. And I think Randy could beat Rua or Machida. He loves the clinch game, and has the better wrestling. If he took either down, I could easily see a GnP victory.

Agree.
Except for the part where Randy could beat Lyoto or Rua, no way in hell. He'd lose both by wicked KO
